If it weren't for these parodies, the month of december would not be survivable. I have to have some way of coping with the relentless playing of the same 30 Christmas songs in every damn shop for a fucking month AND A HALF. >.

How could I celebrate Christmas...ehm Yule without this every year? It's great musically and really fun idea too. I think I am blasting this in front of my family. I think they could really love it since none of them speaks English. Aaah it will be so much fun :3

people are blowing this wayy out of proportion. I'm a Catholic and i think this is awesome!! I'm a huge H.P. Lovecraft fan anyway so to me this is heaven for my ears and a bit of comic relief due to the stress of the holidays!

Its not anti christian. Its comedy, by creating a juxtaposition between the slimy horrors Lovecraft created and what we all recognize as bright, happy religious music.

Not just that, but if people would take a good hard look at the customs and traditions around Christmas they'd find that many of them came from pagan and secular practices and then realize that Christmas as we celebrate it is largely non-Christian. It's likely that Jesus was born in the spring (based on passages about shepherds at the time of his birth), and the Christian celebration was moved to December to overlap with Saturnalia, a solstice celebration. Christmas trees came from Norse traditions. While it could be argued that the root of "Santa Claus" came from a real Saint Nicholas who was noted for giving small toys to children, the St. Nick we celebrate now is more the product of marketing campaigns.

Those who are taking this far too seriously: Guys, enjoy the fiction, please. The HPLHS does not really believe in Cthulhu or Yog-Sothoth, they just like the stories, like horror geeks and nerds everywhere.

is it really a problem with some people here? i mean, comon, im christian myself and even i understand its just a joke and no one really worships cthulhu. its just a funny way to have fun since the dreaded solstice is close to christmas, and so it just makes sense to twist christmas carols to be solstice carols! its fun!

Hey, SOME people really worship Cthulhu. And rightly so! As deities go he's right up there with Sauron, the Daedra, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and Charlie Sheen (even surpassing them by some reckonings).

@Alexandra French This is far from anti-Christ/Christian. It's all in good fun. And so what if it was? Does everyone have to believe in your god and your religion? There are far older religions that make a hell of a lot more sense than Christianity or Catholicism. I hate anyone religious who tries to force their beliefs down someone else's throat. Gods and pantheons lived and died long before your Christian/Catholic god was ever thought of, what entitles your god to be the 'right choice?'

@@glennmanry9753 I just mentioned Moloch, one god the Carthaginians worshiped. I'm not much of a classical scholar, so I won't pretend I know of many other religions that practiced human sacrifice.

this is not religious, it is a fan work. also, not everything non-christian is anti-christian. I practice occult (nothing to do with lovecraft, i'm just a fan) and i have no problem with christians

There are and have been zealots in virtually every religion, reaching the extreme of "This is what I believe, so this is what you *must* believe, too, and anything that does not align with these beliefs is anathema".
