I'm 72 also. Retired and bought a house etc. in The Blue Ridge. Making rural life fun. Every day is an adventure...it's all about peace, quiet and survival...in my breathtakingly beautiful mountain home.

Ladies, I'm 50, disabled, & my fiance (high school sweeties reconnected 5 yrs ago after 30ish yrs) & I are renovating a house in VA mtns while still living in NC, so it's been many wkends, & will be many more! The property is located on a mtn stream, & has 1 mtn in front, & one in back. The house is about 50ft from it, & when the windows along the back of the house are open, it's pretty loud, like my own water feature! I'm an artist/crafter, so I'll have a craft room facing the stream. Has a root cellar in the basement where the previous owners left 100s of antique Mason jars! This is the life I want, w/mtn flowers everywhere, a million shades of green, & we've had deer & a wild turkey in the yard, & saw our 1st mtn lion at a local gas station. The town has 300 ppl in it, & is built into the mtns. Our home is outside the town, & we cannot see neighbors bc we're on our own curve as you go around the mtn. Like you ladies, this feels right being w/nature, & after having breast cancer, life is in perspective. Just found a new lump on my clavicle lymph node, & am getting the ultrasound next wk. I seriously want nothing bad to happen just to be able to live for 20 yrs in the mtns w/my sweetheart:) Glad you ladies are living authentic lives, as well.

@@DeanTheDoctor my dad used to cook burgers and steak over a campfire with one when I was a kid. They're very handy if you like to camp or cook over a campfire outdoors.

He seemed to have too much to offer our world to be holed up in a cabin in the woods. Very vibrant personality! Not that Hannah isn’t, but she’s found a way to give back to the world and live in the woods

She’ll miss him but be happy to be back on her own. It’s hard being around someone all the time when you really enjoy being alone.

Any obstacles you may have - are not usually permanent. I have problems and such - - that are permanent. Some things are much harder to do for some of us. If possible...don't let anything stand in your way. Solve the problems or work with them & around them. GOD bless you.

They were so cute together!! Id like to see Hannah go to Isabel’s this time and learn cooking from her. Hannah is so lovely and could really use more nutritious hearty foods! She could help with the farm and sing with Isabel and her crew (Hannah seems to have a great voice she hides from us.) Only thing is, Isabel’s boyfriend is there and it might be a bit of a squeeze (in more ways than one), so if/when he goes home, that might be a good time for Hannah to visit.

That's what I was thinking too. But in a previous video, she did mention that she doesn't go through certain projects because she gets distracted by doing something else. 😄 It would be great if she did add a herb garden to her to-do list and went through with it. Something she can have outdoors and indoors (a movable box) so she can cook wherever she decides. It would be fun!

I have always thought of a building near a lake is a cottage (Canadian) but when I lived in MN all cottages became cabins. Today so many of them are monster homes in both MN & Canada. I am living the summer at a 460 sq foot cottage in Canada. The grocery store is about 45 minutes away, but the liquor store is only 15 😉!

The question I already have to ask myself as a young person (because of other reasons) is: Would you rather live a life full of happiness and experience, doing what your heart desires, or stay away from all of this just to be 'on the safe side'? If ones heart really desires to be on the safe side - I wish everyone a safe trip. But I wanna live and say "it was all worth it!" with a big smile and gratitude for my life and the experiences I will always keep in my heart. 🧡
