Love this video format, casual chatting. I recently picked up a superb condition 16570 polar from 2004 thanks to your recommendation. I am LOVING it. No holes case, and at first I was upset about it but now I’m glad it’s no holes. Gives it that extra touch of modernity… shocked at how accurate it is.

It's a pleasure hearing your watch musings. As someone who has no watch afficinado friends I'm largely having watch conversations with myself. For me the seed was planted at 8 years old and 30 years later it's going strong. Aim is to end up with a solid 4 watch collection. Any more and I feel that the 'value' I would place on each watch wouldn't be justified.

Congratulations on coming out of the “two tone closet”! As usual: I love your honesty about your Watch collecting journey! I went through the same thing with the Bluesey and the Root Beer, if you are anything like me, you will wear them a lot less than your Steel pieces but you will still appreciate them and use them when the moment is right! I totally understand your comments about buying certain watches for ourselves and the character profile that we create for ourselves in our minds. I wear a nice watch daily and I figure that, as far as I can tell, 99.5% of people don't look at my watch and don't care. The only person who really cares is me. That's fine, I enjoy wearing what I like and what I feel fits me and who I am (or at least who I want to believe I am).

I've been toying with the idea of purchasing a sub 114060...... specifically because my Bluesy comes out so little.....I don't believe a Bluesy can scratch that Submariner itch..... it's more of a companion piece for me.

What I've learned is that I am always searching for that one watch that can fulfill me and can be my everyday watch. I'm currently trying on the Explorer 2 black dial and seeing if this will be it for me. I'm tired of looking for the next Rolex. I just want to settle down with one or maybe 2. One watch for everyday and another for special occasion.

This is their way of making their Seiko (something they CAN afford) look like something they want but CAN'T afford or can't get due to availability. It's also why the homage market is so successful. I have someone that will change my Skx009 using a Seiko 5 Donor, The skx original movement is not functioning right. I wear Seikos to work don’t like then knowing about my luxury collection.
