The parliament information is incorrect. The door is slammed on the monarchs representative “black rod” to show that the commons is independent from the monarch. It goes back to when Charles 1st tried to arrest members of parliament. Also law is made in the commons and then debated in the lords who can suggest minor amendments.

I believe Black Rod has the door shut in their face to symbolise the chamber’s independence from the monarchy … then they knock three times to gain entry and all MP’s follow Black Rod to the Lords to hear the speech. The tradition dates back to the 1600’s I think - you are right it is a fascinating history 😊

To do your own French braid, sit on your sofa and put both elbows up on the back of the sofa. When I was 12 years old, I thought of this so my arms wouldn’t get tired. It didn’t take long to get the hang of French braiding and not need to rest my arms.

FYI Rayban sunglasses usually have glass lenses. They are not great for shooting because if hit they can shatter into your eyes.

Bats are very important to protect because they are responsible for pollinating a good 30-40% of the world’s fruit and nut trees. Yes the bees are very important, but bats pollinate other things. And, they are good at controlling a number of flying insects. Having the bat boxes is good.

Try a daily dose of fish oil or Flaxseed oil supplement. My ophthalmologist suggested it after I had a terrible stye surgically removed last year. Apparently styes are caused by dry eyes. He also recommended washing lash line with Optase followed by a lubricating eye drop

Lydia if you use eye lash growth serums like revitalash etc give it a break - they can cause styes in your eye etc. oh!! And make sure you’re not allergic to horse hair. Some people aren’t but upon frequent exposure they can get reactions. 🙆🏻‍♀️

I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...

We have a shooting range right across the street from us, also in the country! Here we have a clay pidgin shoot where they are shot from a box on the range and down the street always we have one in the woods where the clays are shot in the woods sporadically. So.. my guess is that these predominate in the US also!

Did the bat person tell you how they were getting into your house? We have the same issue, and I also love bats, just not in my bedroom! Please tell Ali to wear gloves when handling even with a cloth, the Bat association should have said this. There is a rare disease called Lyssavirus which is related to Rabies that has been found in bats in the UK. A Bat handler died in Scotland from this disease. We had to send some dead bats that we found in our house off to be tested, we were sent a kit with gloves, a test tube and specially labelled envelope to send back! Im most worried about our dogs finding one 😕

The laws aren’t made in the House of Laws, they review the Bills from the Commons and they can put forward amendments for consideration but ultimately they do not make laws and the Commons could ignore the amendments.
