In this video I'm heading home on the 2330 403 service from London Victoria to Chippenham.
This is the last coach of the night, but is it better than the train?
In the video I say about the costs of a return trip coming to £25. This was based on if it was booked 3 days before travel.
I booked this journey about a month before travelling and payed £13.90 for a return.
Hope you enjoy and feedback both positive and negative is always welcome and hopefully I'll try some other intercity coach services soon

Me and my Dad just booked 2 trips with National Express yesterday - Leeds to Newcastle on the 3rd June and Newcastle to Leeds on the 4th June. Much cheaper than using the train!

Can't compete with the price. Train companies unfortunately are ripping us customers off. Hope your trip goes trouble free.

27 quid to bath is cheaper than the train but I paid less for a coach to France... could be better. not everyone can plan a month in advance. My problem with the coach is oxygen, I struggle to breathe all I need because the coaches don't pull enough outside air in. (no issue on a flight, plane engines pull in air and change it in full every 15 minutes). Most trains are okay because the doors frequently open.

Yeah it is. I've just looked on some prices for example £42 London to Lille today but if you leave it a month it's £17, so of course if you can book early than definitely the way to go but £42 is not too extortionate. As with oxygen etc that's down to personal preference and I understand entirely, I do like the train as I can get up and stretch etc. Plane travel I love but it's the whole process of airports that gets on my nerves

@@MarcsCupofTea I just don't travel any more. I have been all over the world by plane. I lost my patience in 2020, when they decided to mess everyone around even more. I'm happy I managed to see the world before. :') 1994 British Airways as a kid... that was service. everyone with a few million just goes private cos they had enough of being herded around.

Coaches are hideously inaccessible and stressful in a wheelchair. A massive palaver for the driver, always no access to toilets, insufficient space, being made a spectacle of, uncomfy... Trains have serious access issues but are more usable than coaches for me in my wheelchair.

If that's what you prefer then I'm glad it works for you. I know coaches ain't perfect for all passengers but they've had to adapt for the PSVAR regulations to make it as accessible as possible for all. I agree trains have better access and a lot of stations now step free 👍

Thanks for this vid too! I regularly make trips from Corsham (just down the road from you 😅) to both London, and Plymouth - whilst I can usually get the train to plym (as it takes less time and is often cheaper than coach providing you book far enough in advance), trips to London I’ll always do on the coach. So much cheaper👍🏻

London is really expensive on the train and how GWR can justify that I don't know. The Corsham stops always look busy when I pass it in the car so it's good to see there's enough passenger traffic to support it. Trains to the south west are just as cheap as the coach as I've booked a few trips this week (spoiler alert) Thanks for watching 😁

@@MarcsCupofTea I look forward to seeing the new stuff 😁 fyi it is always a slightly anxious moment when the coach gets to my stop, because it’s so insignificant I never know whether it might carry on😂

You'll be surprised how many passengers are like that. Tbh I'm a bit like it when I'm waiting for a bus/coach. I don't know if they still do but I knew guys on National 20 odd years ago and they'd have a manifest before leaving the depot with how many passengers from each stop

"Bus firms pay fat cats £1.5 BILLION - while prices go up 55% and routes are axed. " Billion = if everyone at your secondary school of 1,000 people worked for 2 lifetimes, they would earn £1.5 BILLION. the inequality is just a joke. Anyway thanks for the video.

Thanks for watching and yes I agree with you entirely. I've been made redundant from jobs before because of routes being cut etc. Unfortunately inequality is rife in this country but that's another discussion for another day.

I love buses, and have no objections to the extra travel time. But the amount of delays, unreliability and terrible communication make N.E. services an absolute last resort only for me nowadays.

Sorry. Life’s too short to take all that additional time to sit cramped on a bus. Train wins. Station facilities so much better too.
