Heiskanen always was the best player comp ceiling wise for Reinbacher. Both were two-way D with great sticks and excellent in transition in their D0. Heiskanen was a bit more creative offensively however. Heiskanen offensive game was on display at the U18 and he looked absolutely insane (I tend to ignore the U18 in my evaluation, oups). Reinbacher didn’t had a chance to show his offensive game that much outside the NL in his D0 compare to Heiskanen. If Reinbacher’s offensive game stay slightly above average, he could become a Devon Toews kind of D. He was 4th on my list for 2023. Love the players with high floors and underrated ceillings. Konsta Helenius is the same kind of prospect. Both are not flashy prospects but they are insanely effective.

I also Compared Reinbacher with Heiskanen/Josi… Reinbacher’s ability to close on players and create turnovers is elite and that’s going to give him scoring chances in the NHL, His shot is great and moves great for a big guy…. I definitely agree with you.. I believe Reinbacher is easily a 30-50 point Two way D with the upside of a 50-60 point TWD… I’m not a big fan of Helenius being drafted that high in the top 5, With a D I’m good with that because they really impact the game, But there are players with a safe floor and higher upside I would take instead of helenius like Tij Iginla or Zayne Parekh… just my opinion I’m really high on Parekh and Iginla…

We can talk again in 2-3 years, any analysis before that would be premature. BTW I prefer a solid all around defender than an all offense no defence one. Most fans put way too much value on points and not enough on efficacy. Hopefully Reinbacher can become a solid 1st pairing defender that denies the best lines while getting an acceptable number of points.

Well even if that's the case, he's coming to Montreal, not sure if u have been watching, but they dont exactly have a powerhouse team, I think we r 6 places out of the very bottom of the league, maybe more. I wish i could see what everyone else sees in him, and yes, I have watched quite a few games.

This has nothing to do with this video but I would love to see you rant on a video about the recent Tom Wilson controversy with his golf swing right into Noah Gregors face. As a caps fan, I hope Gregor is okay. I think Wilson will get between 4-8 games. I’ve met Wilson before and he’s a nice guy off the ice, but man he is dirty sometimes on the ice. If he does get suspended, it’ll be the 6th time of his career 😳

It is his first suspension in over 3 years, so he isn't considered a repeat offender of the CBA this time, and according to Gregor, Wilson did immediately apologize to him, and said it wasn't intentional. Still, it was stupid, and a 6-game suspension is warranted. There really isn't a ton to talk about. He did something dumb, and he'll serve out his suspension.

Alex Pietrangelo type, not saying he'll be that successful or that he couldn't be better than that. Just saying he reminds me of him. Good take though.

I wasn't happy with the pic but he will be a good all-around D, hopefully 2 or 3 on the Montreal team. I would had prefered a forward last year and a right D this year (any of Levshunov, Yakemchuk or Parekh) but the management must have seen something in him that most scouts didn't to pick him up that high.I hope that if Montreal draft a D again this year, they will trade a good young D for an impact top 6 forward.

There's always going to be people who will be critical of him, even if he becomes someone like Kris Letang. Not saying at 19 he's going to be Letang, but Michkov, Leonard, ASP, Danielson were all right there

They should have went with ryan Leonard, i figured if they didnt take Leonard, it would at least be Michkov, Nope! That's gonna bite us in the ass, worse than when we let Brady Tkachuk go and took Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Habs already had at least 11 defensemen when they chose reinbacher. Not a good choice in my opinion, hopefully i am proven wrong, but ive been a Habs fan for over 40 years, and i think my predictions are usually pretty good. We'll see, i guess.

That's not gonna happen, Guhle isn't going to be a 2nd pair d. He's the guy they want on the #1 pairing, probably with mailloux. Hutson and reinbacher might be 2nd line pairing.

@@toddlauretteHabsFan from what I’ve saw from ghule he isn’t good enough defensively to be paired with an offensive d like mailoux he’s good but needs a defensive d or atleast a two way defender on his side. Unless mailoux has stepped up his game in the AHL defensively im not sure he can be paired with ghule.

Something people seem to miss is the fact a player's value depends on his team/linemates.If Reinbacher was on the McKinnon line or the Kucherov line he might put up numbers that make him look better than he really is but on MTL he will be very average much like Guhle.IMO Reinbacher unless used as trade bait was a complete waste of a first round pick we needed a forward and no excuse matters to me.

Amen Brother, i couldn't agree more, i get so much hateful comments about Reinbacher, everytime i see a video, i think im not saying shit, then i read some of the comments, I swear to God, I just read a comment that dude compared him to Bobby Orr, he's like ever hear of Bobby Orr??? lol, our fans are completely insane! we need goal scoring, not more D. I dont know how this isn't obvious, how many one goal games did we lose this year? Enough that if we won them, we'd be in the playoffs. A player like Michkov or Leonard would be awesome to have here. But nope, we got reinbacher, with his goal from last year, but his team sucked, lol, So does Montreal!!! lol, I hate to say it, but we have a ways to go , we are definitely moving in the right direction, but we r like 6 spots from the bottom of the league, again! Right before the draft Hughes and Gorton both said they arent drafting for position, they are going for the best available player, that definitely wasn't reinbacher, not at the time, or as far as ceilings go. we r gonna be sorry we passed on Michkov, and Leonard, but probably Michkov more. And fans r like he wont even be here til 2025, so what? Reinbacher wont be a Hab til 2026, not full time anyway, if we could wait for that...

Definitely overdrafted, but definitely not a bust. That being said, probably not a top pairing defenseman. I must admit I was a bit surprised to see Kent draft on positional need, because he clearly wasn't BPA at no. 5

He's a similar type of player to Moritz Seider who people thought was overdrafted as well back in 2019. Kent was in a similar situation to Yzerman in 2019 so he'll be fine unless something freaky happens to him. Also defenseman take awhile to develop.

@@user-by3nd4rm6c I don't think so, though I think Slaf should have had a season in the AHL before joining the NHL roster like what we did with Kasper. Usually for the Wings it's 2 seasons for a forward. Reinbacher I believe your team is taking the right approach with him, it's similar to Seider's career path. It usually takes awhile for D-Man to develop and longer for Goalies. Your manager and coach has the right approach with young players right now unlike Marc Bergiven so have faith in them to make the right decision.

reinbacher going 16th overall sounds a lot more realistic than what happened, the habs who already had at least 11 defensemen, (that's counting off the top of my head), including Hutson, Mailloux, Barron, Struble....The Habs struggle to put the puck in the net EVERY NIGHT, so how do they solve that? By drafting a defensive defenseman, and 99% of Habs fans HATED the pick, and for good reason, but it seems his goal he got this year persuaded most Habs fans to change their minds about him, and now they are all thinking they have a #1 pairing D man. lol, i can't see that. I hope he does, and im wrong, but going on what hes done this year, and last, i cant see it. Plus he isn't going down levels, the AHL is much tougher competition, and lastly, he wasn't good because he was on a poor team, HELLO, he's coming to Montreal!!! lol, The Habs aren't exactly a good team. I love them, but they're probably 3 good goal scorers from competing. No more D please!!! lol.

Don't think you've published such content on any other prospect that wasn't either a top 3 pick or had already played most if not all of his later years on US or canadian ICE already. I dont understand how there are sooo many habs fans who think this guyis so great, it must be the goal he got last year, or maybe the 10 assists... well his team sucked, well i hate to break it to you, but Montreal is 6 spots out of LAST place, so he isnt going to a team that is super lol. That goal will really help us next season...
