She was born, grew up and schooled here, is it that strange for her to speak tagalog like a native? What would be strange is her speaking with an indian accent, intonation and mannerism.

Actually our language is no longer Tagalog but Taglish and it fits her well
@jabais1258 ай бұрын
Philippines has two official languages Filipino derived from "Tagalog" and it is the national language of the Philippines and English. When you say Taglish, it is just a code switching or mixing in the use of Tagalog and English.
@alkaizerplaza13428 ай бұрын
@@jabais125nope! There is no such derivation. Filipino (a national language) is a mixed of Philippine languages. English is (foreign) our second official language use by the government.
@jabais1258 ай бұрын
@@alkaizerplaza1342 the phrase national language is for the Filipino language. That's why I said, ...and English which is under the two official languages I have mentioned.
@jabais1258 ай бұрын
@@alkaizerplaza1342 Well, Tagalog is where the Filipino language was derived from. Aside from the Tagalog words, there are also words borrowed from the Spanish and English languages. These words were then nativised and included in the vocabulary of the Filipino language.
@bobbygalinato8 ай бұрын
Taglish only in Manila - or should I say, the more affluent portions. I think its still tagalog mostly, and deep tagalog, that is, in provinces like Batangas, Quezon etc.
