That was a real test on those mangled hulls! You were harder on them than me. I plan for the ones in the store to have a black oxide finish by the way. Excellent video!

Great stuff but been trying to order off the Reloaders Network but no one is answering. There doesn't seem to be a drop down for Canada and no reply on the second or third inquiry?? What gives. For starter I tried getting the Wad Seating Tool Combo for Svarog “Special” Wads Anywhere else I could get some Nick Ross goodies?? Thanks!

Nick really does a nice custom job for the same amount of money that BPI wants for their inferior product. everything Nick has made is excellent quality, he makes things with that first time quality attitude. Good honest review Cookie.-Dave

Interesting and thanks for uploading. A US friend of mine calls this tribal knowledge, it's not written down. My 410 roll crimp (home made) has never been very good, so I just made another, two pins but actually just one all the way through. I snapped off my narrow grooving tool and used another. Thought it would be junk but gave a thicker crimp which I''m very pleased with especially for tube magazines. I don't reload, I have a very fussy gun (9410) that likes 2.5" cartridges (63.5mm). Many Eu cartridges come out up to 67mm even if advertised as " true 2 ½ inch case" so a quick re roll often sorts that out. Great video, very informative.

I have started roll crimping for my 410 due to the store expense for that size shot shell. I am loading with shot though. I like the looks of that roll on that Nick Ross. I will consider buying.

Fortunecookie45LC, I love your videos and your positive attitude. Straight forward, direct, and great subject matter. Please keep up the awesome videos on all sorts of different reloading videos from reloading shotgun slugs to 45's to AR etc. I am curious as to what was your background and places/jobs you've worked. As a compliment, you are very well-spoken and explain everything is easy-to-understand terms for us newer reloaders. Thank you, again!

I have one coming from Russia! The wait time is kinda bad, ordered 2 weeks ago and they say it may get here between Thanksgiving and Christmas, haha. But, it'll be worth the wait.

Man got to love that (blue dirt) lol I used to load 32gr of it under a rp12 wad with 13/8oz of 5s or 6s depending on temp and distance as a long long distance trap load for the 50-80 yard money shoots threw a bt99 or bt100 32 in ported barrel

Nice video but I guess everything old is new. I'm actually still using the bgi mechanical hand crank roll crimper 4 pin patent date 1891 they work good paper and plastic hulls takes a little effort but works good and it actually has a square roll crimp and the round roll and a lot less noise lol. And probably a whopping $16 invested.

Why didn’t you trim your hulls down to match the slug wad and charge. And just put a little grease on the end of the hull. I use a little bowl with a pad with 3 and one oil on it and just dip the end into the pad and you’ll never have to keep putting vasiline inside the crimper and have to clean it often.

I was hoping for an explanation of what the pins did and why four were better than one. I have made my own as per a very good and very short (speeded up during the boring bits, take note!) video on here with no pins at all and it works just fine. I made the cutter as per the video from an old round file, cost? Very little!

Can you reload these after firing without having to cut them down? I was under the impression that when you roll crimp you can’t reload it at the same length again because the hull is wrecked or weakened where it’s rolled?

Just have a quick question.... is it OK to neck turn and unify the primer pocket on once fired rifle brass?
@7316bobe
@7316bobe 4 жыл бұрын
Yes. That is why you neck turn and unify the once fired rifle brass. You can even check brand new bulk brass to make sure it is as good as it can be before you load it.

This 4 pin design looks almost identical to the old crimper I have. It was brass though.

However, it looks these pins are especially not totally radial but angled. For a reason I suppose.

I love your content especially your slug reloading! I've just purchased on E Bay the Forest Camping 12 GA Roll Crimper. It was less than $10 on EBAY, and with shipping came out to $3 less than AMAZON. Going to try this one before I consider an upgrade to this 4 pin. Have you ever used the all black nylon one? Seems to work great on KZfaq videos I've seen. Hope you can keep up your channel of KZfaq with their crazy new anti-gun demonticzations polices. Good luck and keep sharing this content.

Ugh. If you want good crimps, try GAEP crimping dies, 130f preheat, 1600 rpm, liquid silicon lube, 1 second crimp.

Ok. So now it cost you as much the roll your own as good factory slugs. If you load your lee drive 7/8oz slugs for your barrel/gun you should get one big ragged hole @92 yards and in. With a five shot group.

Worth watching but really there is NO difference between any of the roll crimps. They all do the same job so just buy the cheapest of them and away you go. This is more of an advertisement for the Nick Ross product which while it is ok it is NO better than any of the others but probably costs much more.
