It's also like paying tribute to him for his part as portraying The Flash. It's rare to see that kind of respect to some actors these days.

John Wesley Shipp in the house. The 90's show was classic and I am happy that Wesley Shipp got a chance to complete the story he wanted for his Flash during the Crisis on Infinite Earth's storyline. The archive footage of Barry Allen telling Tina McGee with him saying "I have faith you Tina" gave tears. That journey was a long one a beautiful ending. Wesley Shipp told a funny story about how once he wrapped filming of the final episode he through the golden flash symbols into the trash and Hamill ran immediately and wanted to keep it as a memento.

I loved the 90's Flash series. When I saw my cousin watching the new series and he appeared on, I had to stop and watch it! Still the best Flash =)

I met John while my brother and I attended HOH Comic Con in Elkhart Indiana last year. Had a piece of fan art made prior to the event, and he signed it in signature red sharpie. We later sat in on his Q&A panel, and it was neato.

Can’t wait for him to return as Jay Garrick in The Flash. Hopefully crisis retconned the fact that he was getting old and wanted to retire and Barry shares him speed from the artificial speed force 🤞

Real Flash. Ive called him Flash in everything he ever did after the Flash, including Dawsons Creek. He just looks like a superhero. Glad they worked him and the original show footage into the WB flash.

I remember when his flash show first aired. I was a kid and couldn't wait to watch it. I watched it some recently and yeah it's dated obviously but I still like it. The suit was cool. Plus he was the dad from Neverending Story so there's that, lol.

Best Flash ever casted. From a physical standpoint. The jaw, a face with coarse rugged features, bass in his voice, and not skinny. All creating a more manly feel than Ezra or Grant who feel kind of adolescent. No offense to them. I wish all superhero castings were like this from a physical standpoint. Although certain characters don't need that rugged look or strong voice. But Barry Allen isn't one of those characters. He should feel more manly.

i watched the show with my dad, i was 7, 90s flash is the ish, also watched lois n clarke with em too...he is of the generation and fandom of superman and batman lone ranger tarzan etc flash is still one of my favorite super heroes

That fateful scene of when mister shipps flash gives his life made me tear up and say good bye barry with tears stroming down my face and seeing the 90s flash emblem on the floor with scorch marks made my heart flood with emotions and just flat out made me cry a little. I wish there was more to the 90s flash series so that we could have seen more iconic villains and hero's show up

I thought John being Barry's dad in the "new" Flash was an interesting tip of the hat to John's Flash. Then, when they cast him as Jay Garrick, I thought that it was a cool piece of homage casting. Then, when they made John's Barry Allen/Flash part of the multiverse, I thought it was excellent... and John's Flash going out as Barry did in the original "Crisis on Infinite Earths" book was way cool... Now, they just have to make him make ghostly appearances to others before they bring him back like DC did... ;-)

It's crazy cuz it took me watching The flash show again to realize that Barry Allen from Earth 90 is from the 1990s show I knew that but if you can tell they did that on purpose Earth 90 is cuz that was the year it was made in the show

I was very disappointed that these older characters weren't given more screentime in the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Would've justified actually watching those shows, if they had been allowed to be proper heroes and not just cameos.

Rod Hasse played him in the 2 episode Hannah Barbera special, Legends of the Superheroes in 1979...almost doesn't count, though, lol! John Wesley Shipp was the first to portray a fully formed character - if that makes sense
