I remember having dinner at kamayan , dumating yung isang MVP ng PBA pinag kaguluhan ng mga tao dun, a few Miniutes later dumating si Samboy with Atty. biglang tinabla yung PBA MVP nung mga tao, mas marami talagang Fans si Samboy napaka humble kasi nya on and off the court

I met Samboy in the parking area of Ocean Park way way back while watching her daughter Jamie playing and running around...very humble and approachable... we talked for around 20 minutes about how he changed Philippine basketball and sports in general...it is giving your best lagi. Thanks Samboy for touching our lives. Fly high back to the Almighty Father - you have done your mission very well.🙏🙏🙏

I met samboy in cagayan de oro NCBA games. Letran yung team. It was 1984. S very good player but yet so humble. We approached him and he was so kind and humble. It was that time na naging idol ko sya. Lahat nang basketball shirt ko is number 9. Nagiisang samboy sa phil basketball. We love u. REST IN PEACE IDOL. From cagayan de oro city

He approached people, went when invited by fans, encouraged and gave tips to young basketball players, wore the prescribed general manager's suit, and still defeated PBA players in tneir 3-point shootouts. He will be fondly remembered by Letran, NCAA, PBL, PBA, and Filipino basketball fans.

Huge fan of Samboy since his time at Letran. He was way ahead of his time, quite special, even made more inspiring with his humility. Sad that he eventually died from the complications of his cardiac arrest, same fate that had befallen his dad. Rest in paradise Mr Skywalker 🙏

My mother never watched basketball. However, she became an instant fan when she saw play the great Samboy "The Dragon" Lim together with Hector "The Director" Calma. Palagi niya sinasabi hindi lang daw magagaling na players kundi mukhang mababait at mababang-loob, which is true. Maraming salamat po sa inyo at nakita ko na tuwang-tuwa ang aking inay kapag nakikita kayong naglalaro. Special thanks to idol Samboy and you can now rest in eternal paradise with the Lord.❤

Nakaka miss ang kabataan ko. Idol ko yan, elementary days ko pa lng. Maka Great Taste and San Miguel Team fan ako kaya kilala ko mga players nila. Kasabay din nyan ang Chicago Bulls MJ. Kasama ko family manood palagi sa bahay. Ngayon 45 yrs old na ako, wala na ako balita sa PBA.

My deepest condolences to the whole family. I am an avid fan of Samboy Lim, i have kept clippings about him since i became his fan. I even watched him liive and root for his team specially during championship game.He is one of a kind i will never forget his acrobatic shot and his unique movements inside the hardcout.❤

My number 1 idol na player sa PBA, at pungalawa kay Big J sa kasikatan sa PBA. As far as I remember isa siya sa mga unang player na malaki ang sweldo na player. RIP idol the "DRAGON" and the " SKYWALKER"

My Idol since I was high in school The Dragon and Skywalker Avelino Samboy Lim, I'll always watching every game in Astrodome Pasay Complex so many fans clap and crowded people and shouting Samboooooooy.....We miss you although I don't have any pictures of you or with together but you are always in my heart I will never2x forget you .... The worst part was when Dyan Castillejo said, "NICE," when the Daughter of Samboy was explaining how her father passed away a day after everyone said their goodbyes to him. Perhaps she meant it was good to hear the loved ones and friends were able to talk to him before he had decided to sleep in peace, but, there was nothing "NICE" about any of the situation: Samboy was described by the daughter in that same paragraph as already bedridden and suffering from plenty of complications. What seems to be lacking in Miss Dyan's choice of words on-the-record could probably be improved upon turning the cameras off and not rushing into something impromptu because it seems she isn't the best at vocabulary for TACTFULNESS and SOLEMNITY during a deceased person's family's bereavement...

Met The Skywalker at PSC, i was an PT Intern back then 1998, and he was doing ultrasound on himself. I asked if I could help, he politely and jokingly said, that saulado na niya ang gagawin because of the many injuries that he had. He was a superstar but acted just like any regular guy. That's what endears him to his Fans. Lost the bag that he signed though, tsk, tsk

Cguro nga totoong madali siyang imbitahin kasi nakita ko mismo yung English teacher ko sa UST ineestima siya to our surprise sa labas ng building ng Engineering...maybe that was 1989 at binata pa siya noon.
