By the end of the 1960s it became clear the US did not actually hold sufficient gold to fulfil it's Bretton Woods obligations. On August 5th 1971 the US President, Richard Nixon, altered the rate to 38 US Dollars to an ounce of gold, and then ended the guarantee to exchange. By 1973 the rate was again changed to 42 US Dollars to the ounce. From then on, the US Dollar and all other currencies were valued against other currencies alone. The international currency market then became a truly fiat system without any vestige of a gold standard.
@RealDeanWinchester6 сағат бұрын
You forgot to copy the next paragraph from bullionbypost, let me help. It is this lack of a gold standard that makes many investors wary of investments like stocks and ISAs. Current fiat monetary systems can be, and regularly are, devalued by money printing and inflation as 2020 and 2021 have once again shown. As a physical asset, gold can act as a hedge against the fluctuations in the world's economies.

lol. I have seen those gold foiled bills for sale for $3 a piece. They don’t have any measurable amount of gold in them. I bought 5 of them, and didn’t recover any gold at all from them when I refined them. There are gold bills called ‘goldbacks’ that are specific amounts of gold in each bill. They cost way more than the gold you get, but at least you know you’re getting the amount of gold shown on the bills. I’ve refined a few of these, and got back exactly the amount of gold they said they contained.

Schizophrenic utterances refer to the way people with schizophrenia communicate. These utterances can be characterized by several features: Disorganized Speech: This is the most common feature. Speech may be: Derailed: Jumping from topic to topic with no clear connection. Tangential: Going off on tangents that are loosely related to the original topic. Incoherent: Difficult to understand due to a lack of logical flow or missing words/phrases. Neologisms: Making up new words or using existing words in a nonsensical way. Word Salad: Stringing together unrelated words or phrases that seem nonsensical. Poverty of Speech: Speaking very little, using short and simple sentences lacking in detail. Blunted Affect: Reduced emotional expression in speech, making it sound monotone or flat.

My grandma remembers riding in an old model A with her mother and sister at night that had no headlights in Yakima Wa in the 1930s. The same mother who I have a picture of in a wagon and horse heading West. So many stories and such rich history in my family

You should have traded him. You buy one and he promises to follow up with his primary care physician.

The grandmaster sounds like a sovereign citizen. They have redesigned laws and the government in their own heads to meet their own design. It is all big important sounding phrases and words and based on their own delusions.

Honestly some of them have ‘some’ valid points. But good luck trying to change the standards to conform with their viewpoint!

Yea his dad is prolly a sovereign idiot… they just literally learn to bullshit and learn two or three terms and just try to sound smart. But don’t actually spend time learning anything including their own bullshit

Maybe not... He is right about the president of the american government being on this piece of collection so it should be worth something good as there is also some circulation going on with the department of treasury and all that so his evaluation of 100 times the worth of gold is probably not so bad if you are considering all these facts.

Man, I love that old Model A! The controls in those old Ford cars are crazy though, you can't just put a key in it and start it up and go. I've seen videos of how to start and drive the Model T and Model A and I dont know if I could figure it out lol. You should show us that! You got your choke knob, the mixture adjustment, the throttle lever, the power lever, buttons on the floor next to the pedals... Next to a modern car those old beauties are kind of an enigma haha.
