Do keratin first then color after if possible. The keratin purges some of the color out revealing the warm underlying tone

Great video, thx for sharing! We only work with Redken, however, they discontinued the HD Resolution here in Switzerland so we are looking into Diarichesse now. Our main use for Diarichesse will be for gray coverage/blending. Would you mind answering me following questions? - Will only the N cover up to 70% or can we mix it with another nuance like 50% 6N and 50% 6,21? Or will i loose coverage that way? Basically all our clients want cool tones so our goal will be to get the color as cool as possible and i'm afraid that only using the N will pull too warm with the 15vol. Or would you rather recommend using N and .11 as you mentioned which is level free? -Using the foil with Diarichesse, don't they say not to use heat with diarichesse? Would you recommend heat for max gray coverage or going up to 25 min developing time without heat? Thank you so much for all the help!

Hey Andreas! I'd love to help out! - Will only the N cover up to 70% or can we mix it with another nuance like 50% 6N and 50% 6,21? Or will i loose coverage that way? So essentially yes, the blending is good up to 70%, when we want to achieve that 70% the ratio is Equal parts target shade and N. e.g 1/2oz 7.32 + 1/2oz 7N: 2oz 15vol. I personally try to use as little N as possible as I see N as a primer not a target. Now if the grey is super resistant or stubborn OR they want 100% stark coverage then you may want to go to Majirel or your permanent line. If that is not an option you could also try to rule break a bit by applying to dry hair, mixing 1:1 ratio, add heat, process longer (**YOU COULD GO DEEPER) etc.. but the outcomes cannot be guaranteed as there are so many variables. Basically all our clients want cool tones so our goal will be to get the color as cool as possible and i'm afraid that only using the N will pull too warm with the 15vol. BINGO! stock up on .11 Metals/9.11/9.02/etc.. also 2.10 is AMAZING for creating grey and silvers. If the client is at 30% Grey or below skip the N altogether! N and .11 together are amazing however it will lack depth so if you client is "hollow" I'd add a secondary tone with level. Using the foil with Dia Richesse, don't they say not to use heat with diarichesse? Its more of a "heat isn't necessary" thing than a don't use heat. Heat can create surprise results sometimes lol as well as attack the integrity of the hair but some very resistant people need it so I would say use at your discretion. Since Richesse is alkaline in nature its going to want to swell the cuticle anyway where Dia Light is acidic and heat would DEF not help! I hope this helped, I have more detailed videos on my Instagram @lorealchemist if you'd like to dive deeper, and by all means if you have any other questions just ask! Prost!!

I have highlights bleached to a level 9 with some uneven bits only lifted to a 7. They’re quite stark against my natural level 2-3 hair. Would using 8.23 in Dialight give me the caramel tones I’m going for? Or should I add in a level 7 in the mix too?

I dyed my hair a 6.00 my natural colour was 4. It was too warm. I used the DIA light 7.11 ( with 15 vol) to bring cool tones. It worked beautifully but I am now a level 5. How has this happened? I wanted a level 6.11 or 7.11.
@Th3_Alkhemist
@Th3_Alkhemist Ай бұрын
With the info I have from you this is possibly what happened: You used a 6.00 which is a double natural that is only used for resistant grey and is always going to be warm. You also lifted 2 levels which would put you at an orange undertone (hence the warmth you see) when you added the 7.11 that is a double blue and anything blue makes things appear darker. Hope this helps

Hi! Can you use dialight with other brand oxy? I like Femmas oxycream 3% to tone and do rootshadow, but L’Oréal insists on using their own. Is it essential in your opinion?
@Th3_Alkhemist
@Th3_Alkhemist 6 ай бұрын
Thank you! In my honest opinion as an educator/Master Colorist/and Certified Global Color Specialist, (not to be that guy, just to earn the right) The correct developer is essential since there are proprietary ingredients in them along with the peroxide that is calibrated to develop in a certain way. Almost like putting regular gas in a Ferrari, yeah it'll work a little but performance will suffer greatly! Using Dia Light with 6V (1.9%) mixed 1:1.5 for 2-10 minutes will always give you a great result!!!! Hope this helps

@Th3_Alkhemist
@Th3_Alkhemist Жыл бұрын
Thank you son much!!!! Always go with Richesse! Dia light is acidic and will not penetrate Virgin hair. Plus Richesse is deeper and better for covering bands whereas Dia light might bring attention to the areas via the shine. For shadow roots I’m like 5.01 6.01 or 7.01 mixed with .11 Richesse with 9 vol UNDER 20 mins. Over 20 mins you may break the base inadvertently!

Thanks for this video great explanation! Goin to use it for the first time and went with the Richess due to the color I want to achieve a copper blond 8.34/8GC but my client has porous hair and bought 9.3/9G to mix some in there so it won’t grab too dark plus watching the clock when applying cause it may take too dark due to the porosity.

I have level 10/11 hair but tone it with dia light 9.01 are you saying i need to add clear? It gives me white hair but still have some yellow tiny patches any ideas? I'm not a proff x
@Th3_Alkhemist
@Th3_Alkhemist 2 жыл бұрын
Hey G-Star, I am assuming you have it lightened to a lvl 10/11 then gloss it, (makes a big difference virgin hair vs lightened) especially with Dia Light! if yellow is the issue I would have your stylist use 9.02 or 10.22 (80% clear 20% 10.22 roughly and based on porosity) since violet will cancel yellow sadly 9.01 isn't built to neutralize cleanly. Hope this helps!

@Th3_Alkhemist
@Th3_Alkhemist 3 жыл бұрын
Dia Light is not only for Blonde Hair, its calibrated for all levels. I, however, almost always use the Milkshake shades to glaze/gloss my blondes but you can use it on any level as long as the hair is sensitized!
@eggsellent11

@@Th3_Alkhemist what about a client natural base 6 who's not looking to lighten or darken hair just growing out colour ends are sensitised as it was previously balyage I'm just looking to remove warmth and add shine, I don't want it too look as if hair has been coloured really
@Th3_Alkhemist
@Th3_Alkhemist 3 жыл бұрын
@@eggsellent11 Dia Light would be perfect then since its acidic and wont provide any lift or opaque coverage! Since the client doesn't want to be any darker Id suggest using maybe 6.1 & 7.1 in Dia Light =parts with 9vol 1;1.5. Since blue is greedy and sucks up light leveling up 1/2 level should compensate perfectly!

@@eggsellent11 Since she is a natural level 6 I assumed the undertone is more orange/blorange hence only using the .1, but I should have asked what level and tone the old balayage was at currently because you are correct if there are some yellow or gold tones present 7.21 would be a great choice but I would skip the clear (unless the hair is SUPER porous) since those DL shades dont have a heavy deposit load like the milkshakes

It doesn’t wash out per se. it’s more of the oxidation of the color and porosity of the hair it’s put on that gauges longevity
