Loving these stories Dave, takes me back to the good old days, quiet lakes, homemade bait, crap tackle and cracking socials, god it was good back then. Was only thinking the other day that I'm sure I saw you on stage at Wembley at a conference back in the 90's, and there you go, you just mentioned it! Loved the book read it many times over, but sadly I no longer have it, so this series has been a fantastic reminder, long may it last. cheers

Thanks for that Dave, i really enjoyed it. Especially the part about carpet in the swims. I fished a few waters in the 90's where there was always a swim( usually a double) that was carpeted! Probably lose your ticket these days if you put some old carpet down. Good times for sure.

Me and my uncle used to fish the North lake back in the 70's - the corner swims by Sunnymeads station - I caught a mirror of about 20 pounds - it was a guess- plus a few tench but more often than not we blanked - it's mentioned in Keith Jenkings book
