It's strange that this version plays during the Mechonis Awakening cutscene when the music is set to the arranged versions. It doesn't seem intentional since, to my knowledge, the music changes appropriately everywhere else.

It was definitely intentional. The new version wouldn't work with that scene.

@@Alex-ry1lu it was not and was fixed in an update, same for arranged engage the enemy playing in several scenes no mater what your settings were

@@marcievania I’m on the latest update and this version still plays? I think it was intentional because this version emanates are dangerous emotion while the DE version emanates an encouraging emotion. There’s nothing encouraging about the Mechonis awakening and hitting the Bionis while thousands die.

I agree. The remastered version sounds upbeat trying to make you feel hyped. This version in my opinion gives the feeling of uncertainty, which is why I prefer it

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. This version is far superior to the arranged version. Feels way more mechanical which is why it fits so well with the theme.

Yeah it kind of needs the crunchy guitar from the original mix. Pitching it up and adding those fake strings were not good choices

I like them both but personally I like the remaster when it plays versus Xord, I'm not sure why but it hits different. The original is much better during less intense moments. My favorite is the cutscene when shulk learns monado purge.

The DE soundtrack is like 50/50 for tracks that are better / worse than their original counterparts. The devs have gone on record saying they didn't have the budget they would have liked for the new soundtrack. You can tell they had to compromise with some sampled instruments instead of live orchestras in places

I get preferring one version over the other, but wanting the remaster to be more similar to the original? That defeats the purpose of remastering the soundtrack.

I gotta disagree with you on that. I feel like the remaster captures the same feeling and adds more to it. That said, both are amazing.

@@Zeraphyr_ I wouldn't call adding unnecessary guitars over 0:33 a good thing nor would I call removing the industrial feel of this song for the Remaster "capturing the same feeling". Honestly, a lot of the remastered battle themes fail to capture the same feel as the originals or at least be better than the original save for Time to Fight, which shouldn't have been hard to do since T2F is the worst battle theme in the game.

@@espurrseyes42 yeah i do feel they added unnecessary guitar section when it shouldn't have one to most remasters as well ( the fighting songs i mean) it becomes kind of redundant and lose the foreboding of the fight they are used in ( except, like you said ,T2F)
