Ай бұрын

In this insightful episode of "Carnivore Revolution," host Serena is joined by Dr. Rick Goding, an orthopedic surgeon who has profoundly transformed his own health and patient care approach through the carnivore and keto diets. Having struggled with obesity and metabolic syndrome himself, Dr. Goding shares his personal journey of losing 43 pounds and the profound impact of diet on orthopedic health, including how it affects conditions like osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. He also discusses the potential of a proper gut biome to enhance calcium uptake and overall bone health. Beyond personal anecdotes, Dr. Goding delves into how he incorporates these dietary strategies into his practice, offering a fresh perspective on treating orthopedic conditions beyond conventional medical interventions. Join us as we explore the intersections of diet, gut health, and orthopedic care, and discover how Dr. Goding is paving the way for a new understanding of holistic health in the medical community.

I startex carnivore 2 years ago. I was vegetarian 34 years, vegetarian keto for 3 years. Was on 28 pills a day, whole body arthritis, diabetic, crohns, housebound and desperate for my life to change. I only recovered after cutting out the vegetables. It's been revelatory, im active, walking dogs, pill free.

I was vegan for about 10 or 12 years and became extremely sick during that time. I ended up with chronic fatigue syndrome and horrible hormone problems severe depression. My husband finally convinced me to go back to eating meat and I found a book called The metabolic typing diet which told me at the time that I was a protein type! I followed that diet to the letter and within 2 weeks I was virtually cured! After 10 years of hell and almost losing my career and everything I realized that I could not be a vegetarian

Thank you both. Yes my husband was an amazing person and a loving husband. Sadly he passed away many years ago now but he was always there for me! unfortunately he suffered a lot seeing me so sickly I took care of him through his cancel illness and another serious disease. For me, if I know I am going to eat something not- carnivore at a special event, I plan out my meals for the subsequent 2 or 3 days and have meat & eggs on hand. That way I'm set up for getting right back on track and not tempted to just keep going with bad choices.

Canivor has really helped my osteoporosis and rotator cup have almost 14 weeks. My stomach is so much better and I have a lot less pain. Meat, eggs and butter, tallow and lard are my foods.i have muscle knots and the diet and exercise have really helped me to walk so much better. Vegetables caused me so much inflammation and I was almost crippled from a vegetarian diet. I’m doing heat for 82 years old. I have a new life!

Ask your doc to do a REMS (raidio frequency echographic Spectrometry) this shows you bone density and bone quality. I'm due for a Dexa in April and I'm going to ask my doc to also do REMS. I fell last summer on a slippery bolder, hit right on my tail bone and arm. No fractures just bruised and scraped. My son saw me fall and thought i'd need to go to the hospital, that's how bad i fell. It scared the heck out of me. I dont think the DEXA tells the whole story. My doc wants me on the drugs. Aint ever going to happen. I'm carnivore and I told her i'd heal it myself. She said she rarely sees anyone reverse osteoporosis. My goal is to show her she is wrong about me. 😉

I tried keto a few times and I would go mad for raw spinach salads. Every time the pain in my arthritic hip would go through the roof and I couldn't work out why so I would abandon it. Then I discovered Sally Norton and oxolates. My hip is bone on bone with spurs and cysts (NHS, UK waiting list is 12 months just for initial consult, the surgery could be 18 months or more beyond that) but on carnivore, the joint pain is milder. The muscle spasms are brutal but the spinach was another dimension in agony.

Tasting kids baking is fun but after a meal!! And same goes for them - if they want dessert it should be after a meal. It’s not appropriate to eat sugar as a snack or on an empty stomach. Our culture is a cult of sugar and we need to explain that to kids - they need to know that big companies are vested in getting them addicted to sugar. Many parents support their kids baking because it’s seen as cute but only when eaten appropriately. Eating cookie dough isn’t good either!Europeans understand that the order in which we eat food and the amount we eat is important. We need to teach our children and not be afraid of giving them an eating disorder. Baking cookies and eating too many is an eating disorder - kids need to know the dangers!

Some people just don't have the right stomach acid, or the digestive enzymes aren't getting to where they need to go. Our family uses enzymes supplementation, with meals. Dr Berg isn't a medical Dr but he knows how to explain the human body and the things that go wrong. See what he says about getting calcium into the bones.

Your guest needs to learn more about LDL and heart disease - he's vastly ignorant on this. Doc, if you are reading this, heart disease is clearly, clearly NOT your wheelhouse. LDL is in no way associated with heart attacks. Over 50% of heart attack victims in every study I've ever seen on the relationship between LDL and heart attack victims shows that they do not have high LDL: they have low or average. One huge UCLA study has almost 3/4 of heart attack victims as having average or low LDL. If you're making a causative claim, that high LDL is scary and may be causing heart attacks - then these associative studies CAN shoot down that claim. They can't prove, but they can DISPROVE - and that is what they do. Not good enough for you? What about the dozens of quality studies from around the world showing that over the age of 40 or so, the higher ones LDL, the longer they are likely to live - by a very large "risk factor" - and the lower the LDL, the sooner they're likely to die, again by a large "risk factor". I think it's about fifty percent. Now, buy Dr. Malcolm Kendrick's book The Clot Thickens - watch his interviews on YT - and educate yourself on the real cause of heart attacks. Then, and only then, will you understand that unless LDL is so high that blood is too viscous (and what is that, way over 1000?) - you are not at any heart attack risk from high LDL - or - if LDL is high AND is damaged LDL, it's a red flag that your diet is giving you heart disease (but it's not causative - it absolutely is no). Now, I've worked in science, I'm not an expert in this, however - please double-check me. Don't act on my words - investigate this on your own, please. You're a smart guy - you're ahead of the curve - you'll see what I'm talking about if you give Kendrick a chance. It's worth it, I promise. I don't mean to be obnoxious here or "in your face" - but - you absolutely owe it to yourself to deep-dive with Kendrick on this topic. You'll come out a different person - a better doctor - on the other side. Good luck!

Doctors are soooo funny they actually think it is their “place” to know what you are eating. Not one - NOT ONE doctor asked when I was 171 lbs, severe back and hip pain for 9.5 years asked what I ate. They could care less…that the pain was caused by healthy nightshade vegetables! They just don’t care it was “more cortisone more surgery, more visits more procedures.” Why don’t they do hair samples for allergens? Love to see more docs are paying attention! If the diet works we should be able to moderate if we can’t it’s a mind control issue. We use words like Hyper responder, abstainer or addict. We are not selling our kids on the street corner for a Twinkie! Leave the drama out and watch your words. Know that this body you have is meant to switch back and forth and have carbs. We need to lighten up and stop telling ourselves we can’t ever have ice cream again learn self control.

Yes. This is what I concluded. A cheat meal once a month should be fine. And daily, I have no desire, yet, to give up my olives, olive oil, sourkraut and coconut oil. I guess I'm not ready for carnivore. I don't see the problem with my steamed, or raw okra, or munching on cabbage. Might change my mind, but not now.
