Goodness, so much stuff - and so pristine. I'd like to see it on a wet Thursday afternoon when it's been indoor play all day - or maybe I wouldn't!! Also hats off to whoever maintains the outside play areas - moving everything in order to mow, and then replace is a huge job. Respect! Very similar I think, to the Rudolph Steiner approach - with its emphasis on natural playthings. Wouldn't it be lovely if all kids had access to this kind of play environment.

Stunning, I love how you call provocations, 'invitations for learning'.

I heard about these Nurseries through a friend who loaned me The Curiosity Approach book. This is what children's learning should be about. I love all the natural materials and the garden is amazing. Thanks for this!

That’s amazing. It shows that you don’t need to spend a ton of money on expensive plastic toys and gadgets for your children to develop and be happy and successful. At most times, this is what it takes to raise a happy resourceful and successful child, and watch them grow into resourceful adults. When I was little, rather than play with new toys, I’d sit in the cardboard boxes the toys cane in and pretend to drive a car, ride on a steam train, sail the seven seas on a sailing ship, or even shoot off to outer space on my private rocket and have my lunch on Mars!

Really beautiful setting. I’d love to make my childminding setting more like this. I was hoping to see a “baby room” so I could see how the curiosity approach is done for children under 18 months.

Such a nice and environmentally friendly nursery! I’m thinking about the Ofsted Registration. Does anyone have any tips to get through it, what they and ask and what equipment I may need. This nursery is very inspirational and shows that natural resources are better than plastic 😊❤

Looks like alot of work. I'm a childminder and I want my garden to look like one. Bet its a nightmare when their throwing large sticks around. I think it's overpowering

What do you do with children who won't come out of the tunnel when called, or inside when the children put the sand in the kitchen or anywhere else besides the sand pit?

I think clear rules are important to teach the children about using the environment sensibly and safely and I would embed this into the first weeks of their transition to starting the setting.

it is a lovely place, but the kids make it outstanding or not and how they act in it with the adults. Thanks for replying :)

+james travers no problem, I agree the staff interactions and children are key to an ‘outstanding’ grade but this video is made just to inspire and give some ideas about the environmental design, with its unique focus on natural objects that could be implemented into an early years setting to stimulate curiosity, intrigue and exploration.
