An Unbelievable Sea Fishing Session That I Will Never Forget!

I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT I WAS SEEING while filming my latest South Wales Sea Fishing adventure, an incredibe sight to say the least! So I decided to try and catch a Sole, in an attempt to repeat my success of a year ago when I made my 'Good for the Sole' video, what a session that was. When it comes to Bristol Channel sea fishing marks, this place is right up there for me and is one of my favourites. Lots of great memories and lots of great fish over the years, including my PB Cod, Dover Sole, Flounder, Thornack Ray, Conger Eel, Bass, Whiting and more! UK Shore Fishing has taken me to some great parts of the country but it's always nice to fish on home ground. Sea Angling is a big part of my life, always has been and hopefully, always will be.

I stepped away from fishing and haven’t been back for a few years. Watching your videos has really inspired me to start again. Your passion and ethos is much the same as my own, and you have reminded me of that. I feel quite emotional seeing you get so excited when the fish are on. Hi Gareth another excellent video great to see your enthusiasm when fish on something we never lose good to see long rods came in handy for the birds I fish estuary most of the time with two good rods & a short cheap rod catch more on cheap rod just the way it is thanks for all the effort you put in to the video on such a hot day

Yes same with me, I catch more fish on the little boat rod than I do on my two main beachcasters and the fish are usually very close in. Haha thanks Steve, I do get a little excited when I catch a fish and I'm the same when I get a bite! A great day in fairness, it was a pleasure to film the session, things went right for a change. Couldn't believe it when those birds landed on my line, a very special sight indeed. The Bass was in perfect condition, took a little while to recover but eventually swam off lovely, fighting fit. An enjoyable day out and I couldn't really complain. Hope all is good with you, enjoy the weekend 👍👍

Yes I initially thought they were Martins too but I could see red on some of them and so my thinking was that they were Swallows but yeah, they could well have been House Martins. Another great watch Gareth!! Just got back in from feeding stock & enjoying a brew watching your latest trip out. Cracking bass on the 'sleeper' rod, always worth chucking one in close buddy... shame about the congers but you managed to get them close before they slipped the small hooks, so for me, it's a result!! Sounds like you had an early start this morning Jon, although I guess you prefer that when the weather is warm. The new lake sounds interesting, I quite fancy the idea of having a job that involves looking after a lake. Absolutely fabulous video Gareth, Nice Bass , a few that got away , again great scenic shots and to cap it off the birds on your line , I won't mention my fishing exploits at the mo but have to say last week was out on the boat in the middle of a lake an the heavens opened, soaked through but still enjoyed it even though we blanked yet again , Look forward to the next video , cheers .

I remember fly fishing for brownies on my local river and had a kingfisher land on my rod tip, beautiful bird. Old Cheapie boat rod done the business again, lovely Bass. Thank you Stephen. I enjoyed this session, was a pleasure to be there. Seeing those birds on the line will live with me forever, an amazing sight. I bet you were shocked when the Kingfisher landed on your rod tip, that's awesome! The Bass was a lovely Bonus, I've not caught one for a while and so I was a little excited ha! Hi Gareth. I love to watch your video's. I lost my dad 25 years ago. And until 3 weeks ago had not fished. So i tried the light house . And caught my first fish. Thanks for showing me how to regain the bug.

First time i fished that exact mark in almost the exact spot was in late 80,s cought my best shore cought bass 7lb must ave fished it hundreds of time i,ve always done best there sept oct on a 12m tide ish incidently we call that spot keaty,s back in the day the local farmer who rented the land off the steel works was named keats hence keaty,s....great vid 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍

Ah right, I didn't know that it was known as Keaty's back in the day, I guess you learn something new everyday! Thanks Brian. Yeah that's the natural colour of the water, it's a muddy estuary, we don't get clear water around here. Although like everywhere nowadays, there's a bit of rubbish out there which is sad. Cheers 👍

That was a very nice looking bass. Shame about those 2 that came off at the last minute but that is one of fishing's frustrations I suppose. Looks like you have been getting a bit of sun over there just looking at the tan lines on your arms. Once again, another enjoyable video. Thanks Gareth.

Thank you David. Yes the Bass was in perfect condition, such a beautiful fish aren't they. I should have had four fish that day but I've come to accept that missing fish is always going to happen when filming...that's my excuse anyway ha! Yes it's been very warm over here during the past few weeks, was 28 degrees when I filmed this one. Mind you, could do with a drop of rain now, everything is very dry. Hope all is good with you, have a nice weekend 👍👍

anothere great watch mate as alwayes nice bass mate caught the sun as well mate lovley conditions garath lov your vidios mate went ogmore today one small hound the weed was unbeliverable give up after 4 hours never seen it so bad great senary as alwayes you put on your vidios never seen the swifts landing on fishing line in all the years ive been fishing look forward to the nect one mate tight lines garath

I get a lot of goldfinches and a few chaffinches in my garden, and have only seen a bullfinch a few times. Those house martins on your line, i've never seen anything like that. Nice bass and all on a short broomstick.

Yes possibly. When filming I'm usually doing five things at once and the concentration levels tend to drop...and I lose a few fish! Glad you enjoyed 👍
