I just finished this the other day. I did not care so much for the murder mystery that drives the plot. But I loved Death's character a lot and how the story handled death in general. Also the gothic aesthetic was really cool and spooky.

I will definetely be getting Belladonna after watching your video. The quotes on both grief and loss and about death are spot on in my honest opinion. It is extremely hard losing a close family member and the grief never leaves you but the good memories are what keep you going- at least that's how it has been in my case.

Fantastic review ! Currently reading an arc I got and I’m loving it. I’m liking the way it’s handling death and grief etc, I always find a good gothic story can do that.

As I know so well, reading about death and dying brings a lot of emotion. I think it’s beneficial for young adults to be aware of the feelings they may encounter sometime in their life. It’s inevitable it happens at least once. Maybe they will be more prepared for that time. 🙏

This was in my radar because that cover is beautiful and I'm always here for death personified, but since it was YA I hadn't really bothered with it (YA just not doing it much for me nowadays), but since you mentioned it's more mature I'll definitely be giving it a try now!
