Alcaraz never gave up during any point at all, great on him. He just needs to fix his sudden drop of skill level during random points of the match, but he always find a way to miraculously recover from them 😅. Humbert wasn’t bad either. He played gentle sometimes on important points, but still played well.

fantastic display by humbert. we all know his genius level top 5 talent like kyrgios, and man he came to play today. carlos was a bit fortunate at times, but he served bombs when he needed it and most importantly was clutch in set 4. well played to both

It wasn't unstable, 70% of first serves and 14 aces, even in set 3 he had 66% first serves. It is rather that Hugo returned incredibly well, so Carlos couldn't capitalize on his first serve like he usually does.

I so wish that all the top tennis players would stop that clinched fist, evil eye crap toward their opponents. While I understand that perhaps a clinched fist is a natural thing to do by yourself, the new habit of staring at your opponent with angry eyes while shaking your fist is both low class and downright uncivilized.

@@drtrouble3899 agree, but I think Carlos has faced players who have played extremely well (Tiafoe, Humbert), Novak has had the easiest draw so far. I think Carlos has looked incredibly strong mentally, Jannik didn't convince me against Shelton and was lucky to he done in 3. The big unknown to me is how Novak will play against better players. I will update the stats after his 4th round.
