In today's story, you can find out why you don't really need an exotic motorcycle, no matter what you think about it. This is the sad story of a unique American motorcycle that showed a lot and gave the very answer to the question.

PS: Thanks for the excellent explanation about chassis flex. 👍👍👍

You didn’t mention the optional 750cc cylinder kit. On the positive side, your videos are improving! As someone else commented. Your segment on chassis flex was excellent. 🏍💨👍

Tip: You still often talk about “he” when you should use “it”. In English objects tend to be addressed as such because they are not persons and therefore sexless. One only tends to use “he” or “she” for an object or if one personally gives it a name. Like in: “I call my bike Betty. I think she looks beautiful!” You are constantly getting better though. Another great video. 😉

I was excited back then when this was a possibility. I think it’s a good looking bike too.

The whole layout is surprisingly similar to that of the 1989 Honda NT650 GT (RC31) Hawk. It has a still modern aluminum twin spar frame, a 650 V2 (with carbs😁). Now guess what my favorite owned motorcycle is? Ok, it only has 58 bhp but it actually weighs 180 kg fully laden. Many have put a more modern front in it. My special carries a 2003 Fireblade front fork. Furthermore I have designed my own body and fairing parts. OK, that might all sound like nothing but boasting but this example puts the claimed uniqueness of the Fisher a bit into a proper perspective. Surely that frame is great design but not as unique as advertised. Sooner over-engineered for the final incarnation. 😁

Or even older: The Yamaha XZ 550. 1982 V-twin with four valves and twin camshafts. 60 bhp. Rather underdeveloped and ugly though but very much a predecessor of the SV 650. The Ducati Pantah could be called the XZ’s predecessor in return. Ergo: Nothing really new under the sun. The biggest changes lie more in tires, suspension and brakes.

I does look a little like the CBR if you squint from a 100yrds but I'd still like to own one & it does sound good too.

I always thought that it looked good. Much better than the triumph TT600 and Daytona 600. Shame aprila didn't allow the rotax motor to be used..... ....but how come that rotax motor ended up going in to Buells?

Have ridden a Fischer, they are AWESOME. Would love to find one for sale and swap in the Rotax that was meant for it. And the downturn didn’t kill Buell, Harleys out of touch president did

I saw and sat on that yellow Fischer at a motorcycle show in New York. It had a weird seating position, was gaudy and reeked of cheapness. Maybe they just threw it together for the show, I don’t know, but the build quality of that show bike was awful.

A very sympathetic project. Like you mention yourself. Patriotism can be a fickle thing, however often the word is wielded in the States. And as far as the conservatism of motorcyclist goes: That is a recurring theme on you channel. Alas! About the design. It did also not entirely wow me at the time but I can’t say it’s bad either. Be aware that folded lines where all the rage then because of the overblown reputation of the F117 stealth fighter. So not Kerr’s best but one has to see it in its timeframe.

Aprillia murdered this company. They have a significant chance of still being here if they had launched with that rotax as an American Ducati competitor. They’d also have completely stolen all of buell’s market in doing so. Such a shame. Aprillia should be ashamed. I hate companies that are afraid of competition to the extent they will try to kill it

He would probably be the one to suffer consequences. A similar case occurred here in Italy with the single-cylinder Borile Scrambler 450. Theoretically Ducati was supposed to supply cylinder and head (derived from the Multistrada 1100), then management changed and Ducati no longer supplied them, deciding instead to produce its own Ducati Scrambler 800. Borile publicly accused Ducati of having withdrawn from the agreement, as well as of plagiarism...in the end Borile was fined and sentenced to pay Ducati. It's always the strongest who wins.
