Preston Lord was 16 years old when he was killed nearly three months ago in Queen Creek. While the community waits for justice, more details are coming out about the people responsible for his death.
In this episode of Momcast, Emma Jade talks with Arizona Republic investigative reporter Robert Anglen about the Preston Lord death investigation, along with new details emerging about the Gilbert Goons and their string of attacks across the East Valley.

Can I just say that I am appalled at the kids who hang out at Target in Queen Creek. Your children are acting like little thugs and this is a direct reflection of the community, parents, schools and police! Please STOP the crazy antics of the kids in your community! I was visiting my daughter this past weekend, I went to Target to shop. There was at least 40 teens there looking to intimidate shoppers, going through the store wreaking havoc and the employees said they can’t do anything about it? Really target.. because I used to be a security officer for the company and now I’m a school social worker trying to prevent this despicable behavior so these feral kids don’t scare me, but I am scared for your community! What I witnessed was nuts and before everyone starts pointing fingers at everyone else, its starts with you!

The parents and community should have stepped up more than 2 years ago. The adults instead film it and do absolutely nothing. It wouldn’t happen in the country as the adults would come out of every home and stomp some heads in the ground. The fact the community of adults have allowed this to go on is absolutely criminal on their behalf. A bunch of candy pansy arse adults scared of some kids not even using weapons.

The adults of the area should be ashamed of themselves for not stopping it and stepping up to the parents to get their children under control. The fact the kids aren’t being held accountable by the community themselves is absolutely disgusting. Preston Lord died because of the lack of community support to get their neighborhood in control & to do crime watches in their communities. These parents should also be charged of these little goons & then the adults filming these videos, instead of stopping it & reporting it. They should also be arrested and charged for not stepping up and protecting these kids.

We will eventually find out that some of the parents are guilty of felony charges for hiding and covering up what their kids have done or are involved in! My guess some of these parents will come as a shock to us! If they were smart they would get ahead of this. Just because the kids are juveniles isn’t necessarily going to save them from being charged as adults! As for Preston’s murders, they should all be charged as adults! The fact that they are from “affluent” families should mean they should serve a lot of time! Prove to the communities that rich kids in these communities are going to time spend behind bars. It’s example time! Squash the “white privileged” card and serve just justice for these victims!

If there’s “gang” activity or any grouping of people immediately stand up a task force and flood social media, tv, etc. with ads about them and that information/reporting is needed from anyone that has information. Once word gets out that police is aware they will likely disband or move their attacks. This is awful and parents hiding their kids that are involved in the attacks should be charged too

Maybe not direct payments, but they contribute to police funds, etc. in California where I live, the highway patrol had something called the 11-99 Foundation. This foundation provided financial support to Officer families. If you were a big money donor you received a license plate frame with the words “11-99 Foundation Member.” He was stopped many times and always got off with a warning. He used to brag that it was well worth the donation dollars. I think they shut that down due to the publicity

Lack of reporting from the kids being attacked. Their parents didn’t allow them to file a report. Can’t blame the cops if they aren’t being made aware of the attacks or given the videos that adults are taking. The parents all need to be charged.

The mom sounds to be part of the problem, no accountability. Honestly, no normal person wants their child to be involved in something like this. As horrifying as it is, if an investigator tells me he has a video of my child or my child’s friends committing a crime, I would ask to see it so I am able to make a valid determination whether or not my child was involved. This mom sounds like she is burying her head in the sand. Kids aren’t dumb, if they know their parents will always believe them, why stop. Losers went out two weeks later and got in trouble again. Since the kid sounds like a minor, I hope the prosecutors build a case to hold the parents responsible too.

Just for peace of mind for all... we need to give the DA and police departments some time to make their case(s) so the strongest charges they want to place can stick. The burden of proof lies on the plaintiff's, not the defendant' s. I truly believe justice will prevail here. Thanks to the community for standing up in all of this!

Why was this not addressed earlier? You don't go from a normal kid, to a whole gang of very violent kids overnight. They should have been harshly dealt with on day one. Clearly everyone involved needs life in prison & the families of the kids need to have every asset/dollar to their name seized + a few decades in jail. Nip it in the bud

Absolutely…the rich and influential in a community always get a pass, especially in small communities like Gilbert. America remains a very corrupt country and the majority of corruption seems to occur when the rich are implicated in a crime. I see it in my community as well. People need to stand up and pressure local governments and the police departments to treat people equally and to do the right thing. Letters written to local city councils, the press, police departments, etc get more attention

I don’t live in Gilbert but if I did I would write a letter every week to the city council raising the issue of the apparent lack of police response. It is the only way that justice will be done. I would continue even after any arrests were made.

THis is not really new, 30+ years ago in highschgool there were groups in every little town who were known for sport fighting a group that lived to fight. they would even travel to other towns n test their skills against similar groups in those towns the fights were mostly random and often kicked off battles between towns where everyone got involved
