Notes:
- Just to clarify: Click latency being 4ms behind a known fast model is fairly typical even for a wired mouse. Corsair's 1ms wireless response seems perfectly reasonable.

I literally ordered one today and I'm picking it up tomorrow, and had no idea it was an XL mouse.. I don't have large hands by any means so hopefully it works out. Luckily it's from best buy so I can switch it for something else if need be but I really like the buttons. I have an M65 right now but I've been wanting to try something new lately.. will keep posted

Thanks for making this review man. I am 6ft tall and I feel as if my hands are larger than average and I have been wondering for a long time if the current mouse I use is too 'small' so I've went and bought the wireless version of the above based on your review. It's a shame though that Corsair make mostly black mice as my PC setup is mainly a white build including the keyboard and mouse. But I'd rather go for comfort with features over looks.

I'm getting this mouse in the next week or two , retiring my Logitech G502 . I think it will be great but there's one small thing I will miss from my G502 and all other Logitech mice I had in the past and that is the left/right click function on the mouse wheel . I'm so used to have keybinds to those 'keys' in game but I guess that's just a matter of time to unlearn and bind those functions to different keys or buttons

Yea, wireless performance has improved a lot over the last years. I used to have problems with the older generation G7's and such. I haven't had a decent performance mouse have range issues in years now. Keep in mind some cheap options (like the MK520/MK540 for office pc's ) will still struggle with range easily.

I have been looking at this mouse for a little while, my hands are 21cm x 11cm so it's tough to find a mouse that fits. My Thermaltake Theron was great but after 7 years it's time to get something else. I tried the G502 and Razer Basilisk, I like them both but the Basilisk had some troubling quality issues showing up after 2 weeks and honestly, they were both too small. When you said this was like a bigger G502 that caught my attention, I think I'll have to give it a try.

Nice review. I really like you video quality, editing and the content. I wish there was small version of this mouse. I currently use Logitech G102 and G303 for gaming. I also have Razer Basilisk for every day computing (Photoshop 8+ hours a day). I don’t think my hands are that small (maybe average size) since I'm 193cm, 100kg guy but I hold my mouse with finger tips only, never touch it with palm of my hand (strange I know). I just feel more precise with smaller mice (Photoshop pixel precision). Keep up the good work.
@TechTesters
@TechTesters 5 жыл бұрын
Appreciate comments like this! Honestly there is no 'right' size either. I actually use the G Pro Wireless a lot which is about as small as your G303 (or G203, which is the G102 in some countries iirc?). If you prefer to claw grip like you, you'd need to be a giant for a mouse like this: this is palm grip material. We try to help with reviews, but at the end of the day its always really hard to get advice right for everyone. LEt me know if you're ever looking for something different though, we have a collection to base tips on ;)
@lowu001
@lowu001 5 жыл бұрын
Evidently mouse size depends on the grip style. I just really like quality of Corsair's keyboards and mice. Sadly their mice are too big for me. I use Corsair K70 Lux keyboard and I love the aluminium finish and feel. Yes G102 & G203 are the same mice as far as I know. Mine (white G102) was purchased in Australia when I was on a holiday. If you want big mouse to palm it, try Cooler Master Storm Reaper from 2013 (I have it in my collection just because it looks good). It even has very manly all metal scroll wheel. However the laser sensor (Avago 9800) calibration feels weird to me , it doesn't detect small movements well and it is too heavy if you like to lift your mouse during use. Having said that my best friend uses his for 5 years and he has no complains. Reviews are subjective to a certain extend. :-) When it comes to the channel content and reviews, you guys are doing just great. I am not looking for anything in particular. I just like watching everything PC related (like reviews of cups, gpus, motherboards, cases, monitors, peripherals.. etc). I been into computers since I got my first laptop (AST Advantage NB-SX25 386SX/25Mhz) from my parents in 1994 and I tried to play Doom on it after school, like 10 FPS at 320x240 resolution. Than I built my first gaming desktop in 1997 with Cyrix 6x86 MX-PR233 (188Mhz) , 3dfx Voodoo 1 4mb GPU and 16mb ram. I still regret not going for Pentium MMX200 to this day... blame Quake II. Geeks will be geeks. :-)

@@lowu001 I had a 386 laptop in those days and I remember it was a terrible brick with a terrible screen, but I still played Warlords on it for days on end (well, on the charger, efficiency has come a long way too...) As for the mice. I guess you could give the Harpoon Wireless a try if you want to stick to Corsair. It's.. ok, especially for the price but it's a lower end design and you can feel that too. We both love Corsair KB's too tbh, but at the end of the day if you can't find the right mouse within the same software ecosystem, it's not worth settling. Objectively the best (small) suggestion would be the G Pro Wireless which is all kinds of awesome tbh. But that does require some serious budget too.

At the moment I like Logitech for my mice and Corsair for keyboards. Already have more than 20 mice. Now I am off to play some Metro Exodus. I really like it, rare single player gem, people just want battle royale games this days. Plus it runs well on my old 3930k with RTX2060 (lost my GTX480 last year after 8 years, so I got old cpu/new gpu combo). Btw, I had Warlords too on my 386 laptop, but I remember playing Wing Commander more. Have nice weekend, both of you.

My G602 is a large mouse suitable for a guy my size (I'm 6'2 with large hands), however the left switch just died on me. Actually, it does this weird double click thing and you cant drag or highlight without problems. This has been happening to a lot of G602s from what I have been reading so I am done with Logitech for a while. After watching this review, I decided to order the Corsair Ironclaw off Amazon and it will be here Saturday. Thanks for the information!
@TechTesters
@TechTesters 5 жыл бұрын
Enjoy! The double click issue is actually one of the most common ways an omron switch dies. Since those switches are in 90% of gaming mice you'll probably find a lot of results for any mouse to have that 'issue'. It's not a thing most brands can do much about.

I just ordered the wired version, but plan to upgrade to the wireless version if I start using the side buttons. I currently have the Scimitar Pro RGB, which is too narrow for my hands and it caused me to squeeze my thumb against the side of the mouse, pressing buttons in process. Question for users of the wireless ironclaw - do you have any trouble accidentally hitting the side button at all?

I know you also tested the Roccat Leadr, what are your thoughts if you compare it with that one? at this moment I have the Logitech G502 Hero, but I have a lot accidentally clicking of the G8 button and also the G4 - G5 button when lifting, With the Roccat Leadr I had never that problem with the side buttons, but after 4 replacements of that one i skipped to the G502, but I have I love/hate relationship with it.
@TechTesters
@TechTesters 5 жыл бұрын
What happened that you needed four replacements? The original Tyon had an old laser sensor so I discounted that from comparison (even though i did love it for MMOs back in the day). The Leadr has a better sensor now, but still uses 5m Omrons (instead of 50 mil click models in the Ironclaw) and is a lot more expensive. I guess if you -really- like that button layout and analog thumb button its viable, but the Ironclaw just makes more sense at less money tbh. The base shape isnt all that different though.

Movement latency you won't feel a difference. Click latency difference will probably be around 3-4 ms or so, nothing you'll notice either tbh. Funny thing is that I also had a g900 and i thought it was too small -but- the G Pro Wireless is also small and I do love claw gripping that one. But bottom line: if you're uncomfortable, try something else. If you want bigger and wireless, this is a solid option. Alternatively the Asus Gladius II Wireless is a bit more 'in between' and solid too. More expensive though.

When I say very large I mean from the tip of my middle finger to the bottom of my palm is 232 mm and the width is 128 mm and my ring size is either 13 or 14 depending on the finger. If it takes more than an hour to get a decent charge then I think I will go with the 650.

@@mattanderson5627 I'm not sure since I never bothered checking. I just know that whenever i looked a bit later, all my wireless mice were full. For example I plugged in the g pro when i answered you, and it went from 50%-100% meanwhile. Time just.. flies too fast for those things. Honestly I dont think there will be big differences in charging time, but I might be wrong. As I said, I'll need to see at some point ( Dont have the Ironclaw with me, its at the office). As for the right mouse. Tough Q, as that's a big hand. The Ironclaw is taller and fills the palm more, but the 600/650 (I have a 600) is definitely longer. If its the length of the fingers that concern you, the 650 might be a better bet. Ironclaw gives that 'full' feeling but its not extremely long. I just worry the 600 wont be long enough either, but aside from the Spatha (laser sensor.. ngh) I can't think of any longer ones either :-/

I tried the g703 and it felt pretty good compared to most because of the very tall bump on the back of the mouse (I like palm grip feeling). Still too small though because of its length. It also developed the reverse scroll problem, so I switched to the Razer Basilisk Ultimate. The Basilisk U is long enough that my fingers rest at the tips of the buttons while the back of the mouse touches my palm. It's super similar to the g503 shape and feel, but I think the hump is a bit taller on the Basilisk U (I could be wrong though). It's the best mouse I have found so far, but still not perfect. I hope this helps!

You just plug the wire in when you're not gaming every few days, get used to it pretty fast. Replacable batteries would probably make it even heavier and/or more expensive.

All i want to know is how loud the clicks are on the mouses but nobody goes over it in the reviews so how could you review a mouse and not cover that?!?!?!
@TechTesters
@TechTesters 4 жыл бұрын
Because 90% of mice and 99% of gaming mice use the same Omron switches and are all within 'who gives a damn' variance in noise levels. If we start reviewing mice en masse we'll start doing that comparison, so far just recording the sound doesn't really help you at all.

Another Disappointment. Having larger hands, I was excited after watching this review with all the emphasis on how large he claims the mouse is. But as usual reality turns out to be quite different than this review. This mouse turns out to be no larger than any others I have tried. I measured my hands and compared them to the measurements he states his are and I was right on the same (he must measure his hands differently).So I had high expectations. After receiving it today I now know it is no different in size than the Scimitar Pro which I have been using most recently. In the video he shows a closeup of his hand on the mouse in a palm grip. When I place my hand on the mouse in the same way the first segment of my fingers fully hang over the end. So now i'm forced back into a claw grip once again. But a key detail about the mouse was left out of this review. The mouse is quite back end heavy so when attempting to raise the mouse using a claw grip the rear drops. This wouldn't be so bad if there was a way to compensate by placing weight in the front but that is not the case here. So fair warning for anyone else with larger hands looking for a mouse that fits, keep looking elsewhere.

I think your understanding of mouse size might be a little off the mark. If your fingers are hanging over the front, you should move your entire hand back on the mouse to reduce or eliminate the front overlap of your fingers. Unless you're using a very aggressive claw grip, you can't expect that the mouse will support your entire hand with no contact between your hand and the mouse pad at all. Most users will experience some contact between the back/heel of their hand and the mouse pad. A lot of users, by default, place their hand too far forward on mice, and then wonder why their mouse is uncomfortable. This is especially common with Logitech mice due to their high center hump. You have to move your hand further back and accept that there will be some contact between your hand and the mouse pad. You'll need to learn how to lift and manipulate the back of your hand to fit your playstyle. Sometimes it becomes a brace that you can use for added stability, other times you'll need to lift it off the mouse pad completely in order to move quickly. This is the biggest gaming mouse there is AFAIK. If it's too small for you, you won't find anything bigger. If you use palm grip, you're not going to find any mouse that will keep your entire hand off the mouse pad at all times. If this really bothers you, you might want to look at trackball mice. They are used by some extremely good FPS players and with practice should be just as good for your average gamer as a traditional gaming mouse. Just my two cents.

I've bought this mouse twice. First time my scroll wheel snapped. I decided maybe this was a once off fault or design error and since I loved the button layout and look I bought another one. In even less time the exact same thing happened. This is a poorly made flimsy piece of trash. The whole thing cracks of cheap plastic if you squeeze it. Just get yourself a G502
