Humans first came from Africa (evolution from apes) and spread across the world from migration (hunter-gatherer and to survive the changing climate) but back then, they didn't have 'civilizations' by today's definitions until way after they had expanded to most of the world, once farming was introduced and accepted--near the fertile crescent (Mediterranean Sea) and elsewhere-- then significant civilizations began taking root.
