It's Analogue Pocket review time...or more like a preview...as the Atari System 1 arcade code and more Atari games just recently got added by Obsidian Dot Dev (from work by Alex on the MiSTer FPGA side of things) as an Analogue Pocket core! And who wouldn't want more retro gaming handheld FPGA fun on the Atari arcade side of things! Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom being my favorite!

I asked, you answered...and I try to listen :) It seems like a LOT of people are interested in the Analogue Pocket and FPGA gaming in general....and a LOT of Analogue Pockets are shipping lately...so here it is! Retro gaming goodness.
Analogue has been making FPGA gaming devices for a while now with an FPGA Super Nintendo, FPGA Sega Genesis and now FPGA Analogue Pocket...but its the Analogue Pocket that seems like the retrogaming hidden gem as who doesn't want portable FPGA gaming!
And there are a TON of awesome Analogue Pocket OpenFPGA arcade cores to play! So lets check them out!

Indy Arcade was so amazing back in the day. The audio was haunting. I’m always quoting “we walk from here” which baffles people because it’s not a memorable quote in the movie but it is in the game

I've played Peter Packrat in the Arcades and the music was beautiful. I always identify the tune.

I love that we're getting more Atari arcade cores. They were a different flavor to everything else in the arcades and for me at least, stood out in the crowd. Here's hoping we get more.

I bought a silver Pocket at a later date and there’s an minor update to the directional pad, the diagonals respond more than the original black pocket that I have. Didn’t know about the RAM update.

Just updated and tested marble madness and temple of doom and I didn't have any of the graphics issues. I placed my pocket pre-order the day it went on sale but i was in the group c for shipping and ended up getting it on Christmas eve 2022.

I was playing Road Blasters on my MiSTer recently, and unfortunately the controls are not great with it. Super awkward with up on the left analog stick being accelerate! So using the same analog stick for both steering and acceleration. And no real way to fix it as far as I could tell. Would make more sense with the right analog stick for acceleration. I should try it on my Pocket and see how it was done there.

Do you know VGE I don’t really like the Atari I don’t enjoy any other consoles. However, the Star Wars arcade is amazing and blue lightning for the Atari links

AvP on Jaguar. Same with Rayman. Honestly Jaguar is the only Atari console I ever play games on
