All our family members were using Tata Indicom and Tata Docomo (now converted into Airtel). Never used Jio neither as a mobile connection nor as a broadband service provider (even when their executives offered to install free service for 1year on installation). Have been investing in Tata stocks (still invested in TCS, TaMo, Elxsi, Tata Power) since 2014 but never touched reliance/Adani stocks.

@@sreyanshuchaterjee3962 adani grew from Gujarat, when Modi (or bjp) was in power. He shot up from $9B to $120B in just 2 years during pandemic. Hindenburg report was mostly about that - they claim it was shady stuff - that the freefloat of his stocks were less than 8% in the market. The value of his businesses (& profits) remained same, only stock price rose up like rocket. Ambani has been rising since the time of Dhirubhai. That's a different story than Adani.

@@cryo4662 Sustainable economic development is the job of the government. And inclusive growth is already a part of India's economy. The Adani's and Ambani's don't just produce everything in house , they lend contracts to various small and mid size firms that produce raw materials and intermediate products for them. Small vendor support is the job of the government and to promote that the need to step up thier game, doesn't mean Ambani and adani have to reduce thier capacity to provide for the country. And as far as Economics goes, every nation as a few top players that are organised, and a large number of unorganised mid and small size firms. It's top down order.

Hi Akshat, Your analysis is flawed regarding below points: 1) Adani is operating through subcontracting business, hence majority of employees are under the subcontractors. 2) TCS's business is fully service driven where the majority of the cost they incur is employee benefit cost. 3) Jio done pretty good job for data cost. Pre-Jio, we were paying almost 150rs per month for data and calls (2 GB data). Right now, I still pay the same amount for around 45 GB data. 4) Amazon funded its e commerce business in India through Capital only, not innovation. They are making loss on e commerce business.

Innovation driven economy is built when the government's intention is to raise the level of education and basic infrastructure. If the key infrastructure is missing then first the infra is built by using capital heavy investment which is mostly done by conglomerates already existing in the country. Then when the infra is built the structure is set. The Innovation starts. Indian innovation "UPI" has the base of Ambani's internet masterclass and cheap internet for everyone and everywhere in India. While I understand the two houses are duopolistic, they are key for innovation.

The problem with Adani and Ambani owning so much wealth is that tomorrow when they wake up they can say I am done with business in India. I am tired so they will move out to some other country. Imagine the wealth that will go along with them. It will be tough to recover from that situation. Thats why 1000 rich businessmen sharing some what equivalent wealth is a better situation than 2 people owning maximum wealth. Government has to play a big role in giving opportunities to different businessmen for different tasks rather than relying on 1 or 2 people.

In 2014 I stepped into corporate life as an IT engineer and that is when I could afford a monthly cellular data plan for myself, the first plan which i opted for with Vodafone network was chargeable around 700-800 rs post tax for 1 GB 3G data, 600 mins of talk time and 100 sms per month (Kindly note, it's 1 GB per month not per day). This was before Jio came into telecom business. Today i pay approximately 250 rs for unlimited calling and near unlimited data pack with same Vodafone network. If it was up to same telecom companies which were operating in 2014 operating with same business model, we would be paying atleast double of what were paying in 2014 for similar plans (and anyone who thinks technological advancements alone could have curbed the cellular prices should checkout how cellular charges have incresed in other countries). And mind you, without an affordable data plan for the masses, there wouldn't be a upi revolution like we have witnessed one in the past couple of years. No matter what others with the memory of a humming bird say, i for one is thankful to Ambani for bringing in this welcome disruption in telecom industry with Jio.

Don't you think. we supporting local and small buisness is something like a tank man who is standing in front of the massive tank, good for optics and story but nothing changes. if crony capitalisim is what policy maker supports, then common man stands no chance.

Bitcoin will take away capital share from equities eventually. Then the reality of these companies will come to light. No one invests in these companies so that they can support them. Everyone invests to protect the purchasing power of their own money and grow it. That money will eventually flow into something that gives better returns and that would be Bitcoin.

@smithbhandari
@smithbhandari Жыл бұрын
Below are the perspectives from which these kind of commentaries or videos to be considered; 1. For the employment part you have to consider the contractual labour employment that these kind of massive infra entities provide, TCS will hire mostly people of one type of education not labour. 2. Further it's not uncommon to create huge businesses using national resources with public funds even Tatas and Birlas, Godrejs, Goenkas and who's who do it, Many of them are into critical business of power generation , Distribution, Infra etc. 3. You are correct on the part that it will not be easy for small players and individuals to survive and ultimately everyone will be doing job for these large organization whether it's direct or indirect employment. 4. Comparison would be more fair when you could have given similar examples from other countries. And yes agreed we all shall "LEARN TO QUESTION".

Very good analysis Akshat. Even though some sycophants or bhakts as they are now popularly called may call you anti-national. Many of us will feel glad that we have a finance advisor (probably more of an economist) like you who is so well socially informed and has regard for the last person in the row. Otherwise majority of times when one thinks of a finance person one thinks of a lifeless number spinner and an unsparing go getter like some of the names you mentioned.

Akshat I mostly agree with you on many topics but Here I don't. I can't say much on Adani but Ambani has clearly built India for me. You see these subscribers of yours , these are due to this man who disrupted the telecom space AROUND 2016 and gave internet at dirt cheap prices ,one of the cheapest price in the world. There are literally millions who are studying through youtube and kids gaining knowledge due to this. I myself have learned a lot due to this Digital revolution. It will have such a tremendous impact on Indian economy which can't be quantified . Also, if someone uses jio sim cards ,I don't see it as a bad monopoly, I mean, there have been many instances in the past too where monopolies have captured market share, It's just plain business, Airtel also has 32% market share and Jio with 38-40% which clearly is not a winner here. It's a duopoly.

This was super helpful. You can definitely see that the Adani-ambani family is influenced by other people like Jeff bezos who managed to control and practically own an entire industry. We can see how india is going in that direction and that will reflect in India’s economic wealth if more and more support goes to big businesses in India. I am super thankful that these corporations haven’t fully taken over India yet and that many small businesses can be supported and do hope there is continued support as small businesses make India unique for the rest of the world at the scale it is in.

TCS is a tech driven company and their main raw material is the employees unlike Adani enterprises which is an infra company. You can try and compare with other infra companies and not with TCS.

While we should definitely worry about Monopolisation of different markets at domestic level, we also have to worry about these important questions too. I hope you will also make a video on these question one day. 1)How can we compete with Global MNCs? What are the strategies to create Indian businesses which can compete with Global MNCs? 2)How to invest heavily in Capital, R&D and Futuristic technologies? What factors impact Businesses' decisions to do such investmemts? What are the strategies to increase such investments in India? If we cant compete with Global MNCs, they will become Monopolies and if they control much of a domestic market share, it will be much more disastrous for domestic consumers. And, if we don't invest im Futuristic technologies, we can never become First players and we can never have first player advantages in markets and thus loose to those first players. It leads to a kind of economic imperialism
