General guidelines for a team 10 bid hand
* Break spades ASAP and lead two rounds of them. This prevent opponent team from taking surprise cut tricks! If spades are broken and you win a trick, LEAD A SPADE, not AN ACE!
* Rotate the lead especially in trumps (unless you hold four, five top spades that can be played one after other). The first player leads a low spade and pard throws his highest and he returns your lead with another low spade and you play high. This tactic maintains the balance in hand and gives you much clearer idea about what other three players are holding.
* If you intend to take cut tricks after placing a high team bid, consider using middle spades. This avoids 'head bumping' later in the hand and hence avoids a lot of potential surprise sets.
* If there is no 200 points reward (like this game) for bidding and winning ten tricks, do not break your Nil early in the hand. If the opponents win their bid and you succeeded in your Nil, their team scores 100 and your team gets 60. In this particular game, the 10 bidding team acuired a thumping 240 net lead from the hand. Better ignore the 10 bid and play your usual game!
