Jim Croce was one of the best folksingers for that time. Most of his work is story songs. He and his guitarist were killed in a plane crash a year (1973) after this song when the pilot had a heart attack. Some of his best is Time in a Bottle, Operator, Photographs and Memories, Big Bad Leroy Brown, Working at the Car Wash Blues. Geoff did a superb cover of Jim Croce's work.

Jim Croce also did Bad Bad Leroy Brown and Time in a Bottle. Really talented man! Geoff's version has a more sinister sound to it, which goes with the story line. He can sing with very clear enunciation, I think this "accent" is an artistic choice. His bass tone is what caught me, but his baritone is fantastic!! You mentioned the sound of John Denver's voice. Geoff did a cover of Country Roads.....

Jim Croce was an amazing folk rock storyteller, as a big fan of his I approve GC's cover/reimagining of this song. The other guitarist was Maury Muehleisen died in the same crash.

There was a problem with the volume but because I am used to view/hear with subtitles due to hearing impairment I could follow your comment just fine. It´s such a catchy song and it is about someone dying... it is a little bit macabre and I like it. Should I be worried?🤔NO!😃

I have always been a fan of Jim Croce, but Geoff's version is so easy to listen to.

I wanted to hear your comments but it was kind of difficult because of the difference between the volume of the videos and of your commentary. Something to consider in future videos. Glad to have you back!

Ah, thanks for letting me know! I’ll keep an eye on that.

It wasn’t just the difference in volumes. My volume was turned up to max and I could barely hear your opening.

Let me know if it happens again, but so far no one else has indicated that there is an issue.

@@PandaBear221B Definitely a difference in the volume.
