UPDATE ON HOW TO SEND ME HANDWRITING:
I know I used to receive submissions through my handwritingforleah@gmail.com email, but currently the BEST way to make sure your writing gets to me is to post it on instagram and use the hashtag #handwritingforleah also you can follow me @leah_eckardt if you'd like as well :D
I wish my email could work, but my emails are just going to continue running out of storage so I think this is the best way to do it.
(but still NEVER email my business email unless it's business related)

I just am obsessed with learning about graphology and I know probably more than I should about it. Leah, hear me out: you should analyze the handwriting in Twilight. Technically, it's fonts, but in the twilight books there are several examples of what the different characters handwriting looks like and it would be so fun to see if the font chosen for each character actually matched up to their personality!! Also, the Twilight font itself would be interesting to analyze.

I don't have the worst self asteem but i often write and text with lowercase "i"s because they are less energy consuming and don't feel as imposing. Part of this is probably from masking my autism and trying to look more normal than I am thus being reclusive/trying to not stand out to much

WHAT I LEARED IN BOATING SCHOOL IS: The analysis of Spongebob's handwriting.. Wow! Absolutely loved the video, all of these clips brought back many nostalgic memories. You never really pay attention to little details in cartoons as a child, when you go back and re-watch them or watch a cool video like Leah's, you notice so much more! That goes for humor that you don't always catch as a child too.

I always wonder how many of these traits are due to/visible because of how Americans are taught to write. I don't know about other countries, but in Hungary we're only taught to write cursive, and from what I know we're reprimanded if we write in print in elementary school, so I wonder if that does something to handwriting

in england we're taught cursive and they only care about that until year 7, but i dropped cursive in year 6. they told me multiple times that id fail my sats, but that didnt happen.

I’m a pre school teacher and although I was able to transition to adulthood with conventional handwriting (using uppercase and lowercase appropriately) I use to write really ugly 😂. When I got to university I realized I wrote neater if I wrote in all caps so I would just do it for the sake of organizing my uni notes. It wasn’t until the other day I was writing something for my kids that they asked why I was writing in all caps. So I come home to look at my notebook and I realized my writing had turned into spongebob handwriting (a mix of lowercase and caps). I was devastated! I didn’t even realize because it became a norm for me. Now I have to intentionally write like a normal person. I will mostly write in all caps with the exception of a few letters. I just thought it was an interesting scenario of how my handwriting evolved or better yet, how I forced it to evolve.

Hear me out; I think it would be really cool if you looked at the writing of the founding fathers (and maybe some of the founding mothers too). I think it would be interesting to see into them as individuals, and not abstract demigods. Also, to see how handwriting as a whole has stayed the same in manner after 200 years. I've read quite a bit of the primary documents from the era, and have been enamored by their calligraphy and penmanship. (Hamilton's sticks out the most in my mind, particularly how he writes his A's.)

Heyyy, so I have a question I noticed in my handwriting that almost on every e the loop is missing. It looks more like a c. I do not have a lot of loops in general. How can I interpreat that? I heard about „too many loops“ but what if they are very small/ missing? Thanksss

A quick question with regards to the cursive "I"-- half the books I consult say that the upper loop refers to the mother while the lower loop refers to the father-other sources say the exact opposite. What do you think?

Good question!!! lately I find myself more and more weary about letter specific traits in general, but for that trait, I don't analyze enough people who write in palmer method cursive so say its accuracy rate (because so few people write like that now) but the few times I have asked if its accurate for the people who write in cursive in my life, it does hold up pretty well. So I'd say it doesn't hurt to ask the writer, but I don't fully trust that trait either haha

You should analyze the Disney character's autographs. Disney makes sure no matter who is playing them, their signatures always look the same. So, what do their autographs say about the characters themselves?

hi leah! i have a question about the letter d what does it mean when lowercase d's look more like uppercase A? as in, it starts with the loop, arches down, then shoots back up and down to make the upper extension. idk if that makes sense

I was thinking about submitting my handwriting to you and then it hit me. Wouldn't the dominant hand affect the t bar? Like, a left-handed person like me would do their t-bars from right to left and the right-handed person would do vice versa. That hand dominance would affect the t-bar slant and could be easipy confused with optimism or pessimism at the same time. I guess you should watch out for the fade?

i don't know about graphology, but logically speaking, i think hand dominance wouldn't make that much of a difference. using your example, I'm right handed and I write me t bars right to left also. if you're writing in cursive then the direction of writing your t bar wouldn't even mater bc ur going back to write it. no matter which hand is dominant, the writer is going to write however is comfortable.

Is there a difference between writing fast and taking time yo write?

generally slow writing indicates the writer is being more cautious about what they're writing. and this can be due to a variety of reasons so you have to look at the rest of the writing to have a sense of why, but generally slower forms of writing indicate a less spontaneous person, it can indicate other things too haha sorry there isn't a clear cut answer
