I’m pretty sure for the lion/mimic costume the reason why the stomach is ripped open and wires are spilling out are to give off that illusion of guts being spilled out. I think it was obviously just a design choice to add more horror to the costumes already mangled design.

The mimic seems to share designs from both Henry's and William's. His right arm and hand and left leg look in line with how Henry designs his animatronic, simple and basic shaped(like the fnaf 1 animatronics). While his left arms and hand and his right leg look a lot like William's Fnaf 4 nightmare endos, sharp, and pointy.

The mimic kinda looks like an amalgamation of three different mascot animatronics... That or he can detach limbs and replace them for limbs suiting different mascots

Still trying to wrap my head around this dude being sealed under Henry's Pizzeria/deathtrap-which was under the pizzaplex (that everything suggests that the Pizzaplex staff might not have known about or were due to investigate the morning following SB), yet is being locked up by a security AI thats linked to the pizzplex. How? Did they just set up the server thingy without noticing the big honking underground ruin with Afton and other various incinerated abominations inside? Is this a separate basement to the Pizzaplex? And judging by the tech of the Mimic and its costumes, it's MUCH older than anything from there and harks back to something circa pre-springlock which would put that 1970's at the latest-raises questions of what was on the site of the Pizzplex/Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria at that time.

I think the reason why the mimic has a bunch of different parts is because Edwin (its creator) destroyed it after his son died so the mimic had to reconstruct itself with scrap parts

1:08 in the books the Mimic was very thrown together, being described as being held together with the engineering equivalent of two pieces of tape. The reason the Mimic in RUIN looks like he was cobbled together out of a lot of different parts is because he was.

The suits in the room are just that... Wearable Suits. This is a reference to the early Fnaf's where Phone Guy mentions getting "replacement Suits, dont worry about the quality or theming...." Clearly these are Very Old suits... But they could usually only work the Mouth parts, and Sometimes the Eye's (hence why they are off-set)

Damn this dlc really gives more questions than answers I wonder with what ending they got with, which ending is canon? I think they've decided to mix all endings into one to make continuation for this dlc.

The mascots have such interesting designs. Their clothes are typical of the 50's and 60's, which would mean that these three characters predate any animatronics in the known FNaF universe. They seem like non-animatronic costumes, which would make sense if they date that far back; perhaps from before Fazbear Entertainment started dabbling in robotechnology? But I suppose they could also be springlock suits, which would explain why we can see thick wires coming out of the busted costume's stomach when the mimic wears it. As for why the mimic's left leg suddenly looks different when it wears the suit... I'd wager that's just a design oversight on Steel Wool's part. I think the bird mascot is either a crow or a penguin, though. Not a chicken.

About Mimic’s hole on his neck: there used to be a lever that deactivates him according to Tales From the Pizzaplex Epilogues, it seems after the events of them he removed that lever

The mimics right leg looks like its part of a springlock suit due to the way its shaped and it looks like it can fit a human leg in there

I have a theory that the mimic looks the way it does because it's trying to mimic Gregory look at the facial structure it's trying to look like Gregory the best that can with its limited resources that's why it's eyes turned orangie brown it's why it has human-like teeth and what I can assume is supposed to resemble hair on the right side of its head well it's left our right it even got rid of the claws on one of the hands but hey that's just a theory

From a model standpoint, Mimic is made out of Endo-02, Funtime Endo, Nightmare Endo, Glamrock Endo, Springlock Endo, then has it's own assets.

Maybe Henry and William used to take commissions for mascot costumes before they went on to make fredbear’s family diner and the pizzaplex managed to track down and purchase some of the suits they made? They were probably going to display them at some point but it looks like they just ended up deep in storage

ok so hear me out, the suits are the ''animatronic'' suits from chica's party world, first of all we have something that looks like a very early variation of chica, second of all the other suits could be the other animatronics from the party world, and if your wondering why they are costumes and not animatronics, maybe henry wasnt the engineer after all and afton was, maybe the entire stories were reverse and henry got bought out of debt, there is no real proof that it is not the way i say.

the hole in its head ended up being a power off switch, in the final epilouge for the fazbear frights the mimic is lured into by a springlock suit by the protagonist lucia and she locks it on him, before turning him off with the switch, the switch was removed by vanny at some point after she most likely found it underground and remove, which is why its the hole it is now

The endo parts are different when in costume because the Mimic can transform into what fits best. It can transform into whatever it wants.

Theory about those costumes that are with the mimic, theory is those suits are the ones mentioned back in fnaf3 night4 phone guy mentions they were gathered on short notice and questionable relevance.

The Mimic has many easter eggs to older endos from the other fnaf games such as the upper right leg is a easter egg to Fnaf sister location because it has wirse just like how we see on Yendo and it's left hand is a nightmare endo hand and many more endos are an easter egg on the modle such as endo 1 and 2 and many more endos.

I think the squarish fingers on Mimic's right hand are the same as the sharp ones on his left hand, just with the sharp tips broken off so that each finger only has two joints instead of three.

The mimic is probably one of the most unsettling entities I've seen in all of FNAF's games. The nightmares felt kinda tryhard, but this guy... really just sets off some 'fear' response in me.

I love how unique and cool they made the Mimic's model, and they made it mostly accurate to the books.

The reason the Mimic looks so mismatched is because it’s described to be made of cannibalized machinery in the books. Most of its appearance in the books also lines up with what it looks like in game

The Mimic no doubt is fascinating. I do wonder where the next installments will take us, and I do have faith in Steel Wool and Scott with this approach. I never thought that chunk of matter on his face would be stuffing from a mascot costume, especially the fabric looking stuff on his head I think this Mimic is supposed to be from the epilogue story. Given how it ended with one girl escaping the mimic, it’s possible ruins ending is a recreation of it. Not to mention the door that seals away the mimic has concrete behind it, exactly to what happens at the end of the first epilogue in TFTP’s first book. I imagine Tangle is a setup to whatever next FNAF project is in store for us, and Burntrap is a whole other mystery. Regardless, I’m always excited for the next installment. 😀👍

What if the mimic took parts of the previous animatronics that wore these costumes(and from other new and older gen animatronics)? Considering he was down there for some time he’d have to repair himself, so where could he have gotten these parts? Most likely from the animatronics he could salvage the extra parts from. Which is why he’s so mix up and fits certain costumes more perfectly then others, if we where to assume that Henry or afton (or maybe even both-) where to make these costumes, they would definitely make a wearable costume like what they did with Golden Freddy and Bonnie… except unlike the 2 they made it so they just put the endos inside… hmm… Where did these Costumes come from then? Why where they under the pizzaplex, let alone the fnaf 6 location? Clearly they where there even before Fnaf 6… so that would mean that they where around before Henry’s Rain to burn afton and all there monster creations to a crisp… so who made them?

Ok, crackpot theory time. I think the mimic's costumes are OG designs of Freddy and the gang, possibly used during the 'fall fair' that we get hinted towards ingame. None the costumes could be freddy since by the poster/ad he is already depicted as a bear. It would seem like a bad idea to advertise your main mascot as one thing and have him look completely different. I think the bird being Chica is kinda obvious (because bird) with the wonky eyes and the heart motif that Glamrock Chica has. The elephant and lion are up for debate, but i personally think Bonnie was originally the elephant, and Foxy was the lion. There's not much evidence for those two, just vibes. Obvious holes are: - where is the OG freddy costume? If its not with the others under the pizzaplex, then you would think it would be displayed in the museum. It's nowhere to be seen. - why are these costumes down here? If they were OG costumes, they should be diaplayed in the museum section. If not OG costumes, what are they doing in the ruins? 3 characters we have never seen before but were important enough to have walk around costumes. It's very unlikely that if they were characters like Mr.Hippo, they would not have a walk around costume since from a business standpoint it'd be a waste of money, especially if they are from fall fest (1970s) That's why when you go to Chuck E Cheese, you only see Chucky on the floor and not Munch and the gang. - how did the mimic find these costumes? Unless hes been around since fall fest, he shouldnt know about it. Though this could explained by him roaming the pizzaplex until stumbling on the costumes - why such huge differences? Companies get rebranded all the time, but i haven't seen anything this drastic. What happened with these OG characters that caused Fazbear to rebrand so drastically, only keeping the lead man the same? Whatever the answers are, i hope we see more of these mascots. The design of them are very cute, and i want to see them in their full glory ❤

I got a theory where the mimic was built from the remainings of the animatronics from the fire, and was meant to be a prototype/antecessor for sun, moon and eclipse, even disguising himself as many animals to entertain the childs, but he probably showed some errors and weird behavior, then staff tryed to get rid of him and he fought back, that's why they would have locked him in there, and that's why he wanted us to "hurt" sun n' moon, he helds anger upon them for being replaced

There's a theory that all the mascot was Made by William afton, William has an interest with circus when he was a child, and when he grew up he Made these mascot, these mascot are the very first costume/animatronic that William made inspired by circus animal, there are lion, elephant, bear(Freadbear), bird, and rabbit (Spring Bonnie). I also have a theory that why the mimic use a rabbit costume in fnaf vr is because it's William's memory, maybe it's literally the very first costume/animatronic that he ever made.
