Dear Ananya! I didn't read any comments here so I'm not sure if someone has mentioned that Akbar Ali is singing thumri originally sung by Ustad Barray Ghulam Ali Khan Saab and Javed Bashir is singing a very famous qawali originally sung by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Saab. Fusion of 2 different things is the beauty of coke studio Pakistan. Music was arranged by Jaffar Zaidi for this coke studio version. He is also playing guitar among the musicians in this performance.

This is why CS Pakistan is a class above. See how Raga Bhairvi is exhibited so subliminally by compounding a piece of thumri of Ustad Baray Ghulam Ali, a piece of qawali of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and slow rock a la Pink Floyd by Amir Zaki's which was added later as he had sadly passed away. That's why some looked to the heavens to pay him respects.

Aamir Zaki was not just a guitarist featured in this song, he's the best Pakistan has ever produced. That was respect given by CS Pakistan to one of its most underrated artists, Zaki passed away in poverty.

I am surprised there is no mention of the composer of this thumru. This is actually a composition of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Saab of Patiala gharana, in raag Jangla bhairavi, indeed one of his most celebrated works. This interpretation of the is good, but then the original is unpareiled.

Very valuable comments and review. Ap se har dafa kuch na kuch naya seekhne ko milta ha. It means keh aap itni bareeki se song ko sunti hen aur oske andar itne choti choti cheezen point out karti hen jinki taraf har insaan ki nazar nahi jaati. Secondly apke bolne ka andaaz bilkul soft urdu bolne walo jaisa ha jo k aik plus point ha. Yahi difference hota ha aik professional bande and non professional bandy ki review ma.

Girl i must say that you are not only a cute looking one with a pure heart that would love to admire anything that is appreciable. but i must mention that u 've got an amazing voice too .i carefully listened to ur own voice texture and singing tone and skills. I think u wont do justice to the talent God gifted u with , if u dont showcase ur talent ( recording ur own album) .. Girl i personally feel this place (youtube channel) is too small a place for u .. u r far better than hundreds of bollywood singers like neha kakar and blah blah . they are not even close to u .. Just to correct you, Amir Zaki's part was pre recorded before his death. It was later added and mixed with this track. That's why during his part, there is no one else on the set. It was added as a tribute to him.

cock studio Pakistan is all about fusion from day first. This item is a fusion itself, as the part javed Bashir sang is actually a qawwali originally composed and sung by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, while the part Akbar Ali performed is a Thumri by Ustad Bary Ghulam Ali Khan sahab. merging pure Punjabi (Lahore, Lylpur styled) accent Qawwali with a soft Thumri is not easy at all. all credit goes to the cock studio producers 💖

Salaam! Loved your reaction. Huge fan of Coke Studio but would love to see your reaction on some Pakistani dramas OSTs as well. Mann Mayal ost, Zindagi gulzar hai ost, Dil Mom Ka Diya ost, Woh Humsafar Tha ost, Mere Paas Tum Ho ost, Sadqey Tumhare ost. These would be some good options to start from.
