Anarchy Tournament! JTE/Harris VS The Wildberries - Movie Trivia Schmoedown

On today’s episode of the Movie Trivia Schmoedown, it’s another match for your viewing and listening pleasure from the Tag Team Anarchy Schmoedown Tournament! Team Evil Genuises aka JTE and The Professor Lon Harris take on the wildest of wild card teams in The Wildberries who sport Josh Macuga and Eliot Dewberry. By all accounts, the Evil Geniuses should absolutely take this match up, but they don’t call this tournament Anarchy for nothing. Macuga has shown time and time again that he can pull answers out of the nether regions of his body and pull out victories as a result. Also, we have no idea how JTE and The Professor will work together as a tag team. Can they repeat the success that JTE had with Jeff Sneider on Team Patriots? Or will he revert to his preSneider days when he was flaming out with Finstock as his partner? Can the Wildberries shock the world with a first round upset and serve notice to the rest of the league? Also, will Eliot still be standing by the end of the match? We’ll have the answers to all of these questions in today’s match! You know there will be some great and tense back and forth in both of these matches and some great fan interaction no doubt. See which team will be left standing at the end and move on to the second round of the competition.

Hey all, just to put it into perspective because I know a lot of people ask why the Patreon is so important. www.patreon.com/schmoedown Mark and I pay for this show ourselves, the editors, writers, competitors, props, set, live events, food for crew etc.. Each episode costs a lot to make per episode. I think the average number of hardcore fans that watch each and every episode is 30-40,000 per episode. There is a match every Tuesday and every Friday plus the Free For All, Collision and Spectacular (10-12 additional matches) that are produced for free on YT. We offer many tiers on the Patreon that we believe gives a lot back to the fans who support. I was calculating that if the hardcore fan base was at the 1.00 tier (Which is around 15 -16 cents per match) we would be able to start doing some really amazing things for this league. My goal is to turn this into a new sport into the mainstream, I want to change the way people watch movies. I have seen the excitement in the air at the live events and I want to do them all around the country and the world. I want it to grow and I want you guys to look at it grow and say "I helped do that." I believe we can grow this together. Thank you for everything and get ready for the Spectacular!! -Harloff

I think I can get behind you on this.I really like hearing you speak about this league growing on a wider medium. Personally, I believe this league can one day be in a prime time television spot. Perhaps following Jeopardy hosted by Josh Macuga????

I see you've written the same post on at least two videos, so I thought I'd point out an error that is easily fixed... "Each episode costs a lot to make per episode" should simply be either "Each episode costs a lot to make" or "It costs a lot to make each episode." Keep the Schmoedown going!

I signed up to the patreon as soon as it was announced. It's only $2 per month, which isn't much. But like you said, if everyone just donated 1 or 2 dollars, (which is nothing!) Per month, it would really help to grow the show, which benefits the fans anyway. Love what you do Kristian.

Upped my pledge to $5. There were a couple of sour comments when this appeal appeared below the last video, and I just have to say: If you watch all the Schmoedown content, and still don't find it worth at least a buck a month, why the heck are you wasting all that free time on something that you're not willing to support? I get that some people simply can't afford to, and that's perfectly okay, but for all the rest of us fans out there; if our problems with the Schmoedown aren't big enough to keep us from watching, we need to put your money where our mouths are and show our support. (Btw, the expansion option for the full text of this comment isn't appearing for me; it cuts off at "Collision and")

Unfortunately, I think you are miscalculating the number of people that are prepared to pay for the patreon. As you say yourself, currently you offer the matches for free, even paying a couple cents per match is therefore comparatively a massive increase, even if "its only a dollar a month". There is a reason, that Google doesn't charge for searches, because even a minor increase in price would make them lose a substancial amount of users. I think a better base for your calculation instead of the number of views would be the amount of t-shirts you sell, because these are truly the people that are willing to pay for the schmoedown.

JTE's memory must only function in remembering movies cuz he never lost a point for writing "Thing". That was Drew McWeeny and he won his challenge that the "the" wasn't necessary. JTE lost a point for not writing "little" in Big trouble in little China. Big difference.

I can't wait to see the Evil Geniuses face a better team in the tournament. If they had been asked and correctly answered every round 3 question, they would have hit the magical 35 points, just like McWeeny and Brianne. I foresee some high scoring matches in round 2.

Most definitely. Reilly/Bateman vs Knost/Bibbs should be the most fun in terms of story lines and trash talk, but I expect JTE/Harris vs McWeeny/Brianne to be the best one.

GREAT to see JTE back in the Schmoedown, hope to see him compete with Lon again in the future. I remember seeing Kristian saying that JTE would have to miss the rest of the tournament because of injury, that sucks because I think this team was gonna win the whole thing. Most important thing is his health of course and I hope he is back on fighting form in time to see Creed II opening weekend!!
