Is there room in this style for an old dad with his guitar and a young daughter with her clarinet? I love this. Seriously, where do we go to find people who play this stuff? In the American South, I guess my options are New Orleans style or Memphis blues. Does this Brazilian flavor ever delve into a more sleepy sound like some slow New Orleans, or is it all uptempo? Love this.

Sam, we have them all at the Centrum Choro workshop in Port Townsend every April. In fact, Anat met the Trio Brasiliero at the workshop a few years back. We are incredibly proud of the workshop and the musicians that we have got to do this. We are thrilled that this group is nominated for a Grammy! Come in April and find out what the buzz is all about! Jovino Santos Neto and Daniela will be joining the teaching staff! In New Orleans there's a gal named Roz playing choro. Used to be in Chorolouco in Seattle. She's killer on clarinet. - Al B.

Hey Sam! There are for sure many slow tempo pieces of Choro. Lamentos from Pixinguinha and Vibrações from Jacob Do Bandolim are the ones i can think of as of right now. How is the playing? Is your young daughter still playing? How about your own self?
