ANC SG Fikile Mbalula on MK Party and Former President Jacob Zuma
ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula has highlighted the far-reaching implications of the MK Party's departure, revealing that the party has poached approximately 2.3 million former ANC supporters. Mbalula acknowledged that this significant loss has reshaped the political landscape, stating that the current discussions around a Government of National Unity (GNU) and engagements with the Democratic Alliance (DA) would not be necessary if the MK Party had remained part of the ANC.

@@dannym7593 Are you in dreamland? EFF and MKP were strictly not allowed to be in government by Gogo Zille. Red lines were drawn. DA red line "No EFF and MKP", MKP no ANC with Ramaphosa as leader. EFF had no red line, they could have joined if Gogo Zille agreed. Despite the bad blood between Ramaphosa and Zuma, the MKP red line makes perfect sense and does need to be spelt out. Second term for Ramaphosa only makes sense with a clear ANC majority. His remaining to serve a second term only benefits DA (allowing them to get back into power and time to consolidate and permanently weaken ANC as they have done in WC). DA will by design take all credit for any good coming out of the GNU and ANC will shoulder all the failures.
