Good video. My favourite is an out/back. A bit biased there as my local, Tuggeranong is such a course. I get to see the leaders and my friends down to the tailwalker. #bringbackthestats

Yes that's the nice thing about this sort of course. And yes to the stats. In the long term I fear they will remove more stats. Age grading for a kick-off.

That parkrun looked very similar to Isobel Trail 😅😅 Great running and lovely improvement from 2 years ago

Another enjoyable video John. I totally agree with you regarding the five aspects of improvement. Just an observation though, I believe that I read in Athletics Weekly in the 1980s (I think it was) Carlos Lopes was quoted as saying that it was his imbibing of a glass of red wine each day (he didn't specify the size of glass) that contributed to his running achievements. Naturally, as any aspiring runner would do I immediately replicated this aspect of his training programme. I had previously read that Lasse Viren had also attributed his success (partly to) the drinking of raindeer milk. Unfortunately, this was not readily available to purchase in 1980s south Yorkshire (it might be different today) so I stuck to what was available on the vin rouge shelves. Not sure if it helped my running performances but it definitely expanded my knowledge of oenology (!). Yes, I looked this word up. Alcohol, eh? To drink or not to drink? That is the question.

Ah Vin Rouge that's a retro one. I think Antonio Pinto was another advocate of red wine. Unfortunately my relentlessly consistent approach extends to alcohol so I'd either indulge every night or not at all. So the Band of Hope it is.

Well done on smashing your PB for the course. Thanks for the shout out on the TPT during the Penistone 10k. Find it really hard to motivate myself to get out there and train. Once I'm out, it's not too bad. Barnsley 10k on Sunday and I should be up for pushing myself to the limit. Half of me wants to, the other half just wants to have a steady run and soak up the atmosphere.

Yeah I can relate to that. Barnsley 10k has many happy memories and is obviously an iconic event anyway. And no one's going to rip up the course for a fast time. But then there's the local pride.

It's very kind to say you used to run with me. About 2 mins in front of me at most races! I'm doing around 50 miles per week at present. 60-70 when training for a marathon.
