I don't typically psychoanalyze, but seems like Keegs dad dismissing Barbie is her root problem she has and she's projecting it to all other men who are dismissive of the movie. Also I haven't seen Barbie but it's a comedy right? Why is she acting like it's friggen Schindler's List or Shawshank Redemption in terms of legacy????

Honestly, I respect Kelly for her opinion and standing her ground. She came in to a podcast not her own and delivered some really good points . It got to a point where the guys where not able to intellectually challenge her anymore. Props to her it takes balls to do what she did and most people would be intimidated. The Issue her is not that the guys don't like movie. I saw the movie as well, and it rings 100% true that the script and plot are weak and the writing is mediocre. The Issue is the movie and it's message resonates with women and they see themselves represented and feel heard. As a guy I won't understand this, but I can respect that it feels important to women, at least some women. It seems like the guys don't acknowledge that, and are dismissive of that. Two things can be true at once. It can be a bad movie in terms of its script and writing and storytelling, but it can also be a great movie in terms of representation for certain people, and how it makes certain people feel seen and heard.

What does Kelly not understand about the fact that a movie geared towards women is going to be more impactful to, and well liked by women?? Yeah it sucks that it feels some of the men are dismissive to the message but i think their point is that they would have enjoyed it more if the jokes were nuanced and the message was presented in a more interesting way.

Here's KFC and Feits' opinion boiled down. They thought Barbie was going to be Knives Out, but it was Knives Out: Glass Onion. It was Black Panther. Good movie, not incredible. Its impact has more to do with the cultural discussion surrounding it than its actual theatrical experience.
