I feel like it's easy to miss one of the main points here - it's not that every relationship turns out like this. It's the ones that lack effort. When you get trapped in romanticizing your partner, running after butterflies in your stomach without being able to communicate, show warmth and care when things get more serious and calm, it is only natural you will grow distant with the person that you once were so excited about. This video reminds me of a post I saw today about someone having to interview married couples or adult whether love is a feeling or a choice. Everyone said is was a choice, a conscious commitment to make things work with a person who made the same decision. They also said that at one point the “feeling of love” faded, and when things were bad they chose to find what was wrong and fix it, and to recreate something worth falling in love with.
