I dont have any friends to fall back to. She was my only world and thats my mistake because I made her this way. 2nd time the exact same thing is happening. I gotta learn how to make true friends and be happy just by myself. Those things are probably immeasurably more valuable than a love partner.

I used to be very scared of creating a deep relationship and then being dumped. And then I started working as a security guard at the age of 18. I met a wonderful elderly woman who on every shift called her husband and talked with him for an hour or more. The memory of her always reminds me that there can be a lasting and beutiful love, you just both have to be understanding and developing.

I feel like it's easy to miss one of the main points here - it's not that every relationship turns out like this. It's the ones that lack effort. When you get trapped in romanticizing your partner, running after butterflies in your stomach without being able to communicate, show warmth and care when things get more serious and calm, it is only natural you will grow distant with the person that you once were so excited about. Love requires continuous trying and commitment. Without it, the words "and nothing could ever ruin this" become just a pointless mantra you repeat to keep yourself in a fantasy world. If you want a person you could spend your life with, you must get used to the idea that it won't always be easy, and yes, you may fall into the rut sometimes, and feel attracted to other people, and have arguments... but after all, it's a choice you make. It's your decision if it's worth a try.

@Adamjewell

Glad this is high up, came here to say this too. The person he described is just mindlessly following his feelings and urges, it's base and basic, will lead to those shallow relationships that are mainly based on sexual attraction and are more susceptible to becoming tired of each other. Also quite self focused. A good relationship is one where you are always trying to help the other person become the best version of themselves they can be, and they in turn may encourage you in your work or hobbies or education goals.
@rusnek.7760
@rusnek.7760 Жыл бұрын
@@Adamjewell Yeah! Also, the described character bases their whole identity around the very idea of romantic love, forgetting their needs like friendship or self-fulfillment while in a relationship. "The food starts to taste good again" only when they meet someone new; this person finds it hard to be happy or content when they're by themselves. I think it's codependent behaviour, not very healthy, especially when unaddressed (although there's a short moment of awareness "or maybe you were just repeating the same dumb pattern again, but, god, it feels incredible").
@lightgiver428
@lightgiver428 Жыл бұрын
Or you keep telling yourself this and you never leave a relationship that's "bad" for you. You unfortunately can't tell, or don't even want to know if someone is good for you or not. You can put a lot of effort into someone it doesn't mean it'll work. Life gets in the way, and sometimes you're more important than the relationship.
@rusnek.7760
@rusnek.7760 Жыл бұрын
@@lightgiver428 I never said that one shouldn't leave an unhealthy relationship, just that each one has its challenges, and I emphasised the importance of an individual decision. And yes, there are no concrete definitions of what's "right" or "good".

This video reminds me of a post I saw today about someone having to interview married couples or adult whether love is a feeling or a choice. Everyone said is was a choice, a conscious commitment to make things work with a person who made the same decision. They also said that at one point the “feeling of love” faded, and when things were bad they chose to find what was wrong and fix it, and to recreate something worth falling in love with. Then at the end there was this which I really like “I no longer fear the day someone who swore I was their universe can no longer see the stars in my eyes as long as they still choose to look until they find them again”

One of the great lessons of life is that this is just a temporary experience...nothing more. It has a beginning at our birth and an end at our death, and every adventure within the confines of this experience will be just a slice of the whole...that can never last longer than the whole. And when you can acknowledge the impermanence of life you begin to realize that everyone you meet exists within the same parameters...and *any* time they are willing to spend with you sharing joy is miraculous and precious...because there are over 7 billion other people they could choose to spend this time with...but they chose to spend it with you. Be willing to joyfully let go, because that is the fractal paradigm of this existence and when you can do this with love and appreciation for the time spent together, many more adventures just like it will fill your journey.

She just broke up with me and now I'm watching this video as I used to everytime we fight.. 26 years and I've never experienced such a pain. I have always been sure that nothing can ever ruin this and this day will never come but it did... It's ruined and she left exurb1a! She is one of your biggest fans, I will never forget the laugh or the smile she makes when you talk about your cat or the happiness on her face when you upload a video and she comes to me saying "I've been waiting for you so we can watch it together". Words are meaningless now so is life, i can't fight anymore.. She just left and took the happiness and my will to live with her. Can't count how many women I've been with but this one was a God compared to any I've met and now she abandoned me. It's almost midnight and I'm all alone crying like a bitch in the park with 2 cups of coffee I brought for us so I can remember how we enjoyed our first date in here. I've just recorded 1 hour record so I can feel like I'm talking to her and not to myself because I'm ashamed to tell anyone about what happened and i really want to feel a glimpse of what I used to feel when we used to come here. I just want to end it all. I lost my last hope to have a better future and depression is eating me alive. No one has been in love like I did. The butterflies never left my stomach and the sex never been boring and her smile never stopped giving me hope in tomorrow. But seems like there will never be tomorrow without her. All I wish is her to be happy no matter what happens, and even if I wanted to be mad or angry about her I just can't. Hope you always be happy Rahaf you're the first and the last real thing that ever happened to me and made me feel special and experience love. And Nothing Can Ever Ruin This.

It adds a lot of color and perspective to my meditation practice even though all I really do is sit and focus on my breath. I love your writing style. Terrifying thoughts said in such an indifferent manner and irony that somehow feels honest ("Nothing can ever ruin this" sounds almost like a joke, but the audience knows it is a very real feeling) seem to be ever present in your work. Now to fill the void with yet another imperfect shape, ignoring the gaps or pretending that's how it's all supposed to be...

This is probably my favourite KZfaq video of all time. It’s just so prosaic, beautifully written and genuinely beautiful. Every time I start getting together with someone I keep remembering the lines “you catch yourself thinking about her a little, then a lot, then all the time” and I realise I’m in this once again. Not for the better, not for worse. Just as a fact. So I start paying more attention, trying to put in effort and reset my mindset from the selfish ways that normally help me survive on my own, preparing myself for a potential beautiful period of my life that will hopefully last a lifetime (if we both put in the work) This video also helps me get my emotions out after a breakup. I just love this video for all the help and support it provided me with. Thank you so much 🖤

I never leave comments and this is an old video but holy shit man. No one I know will see this but just I just need to say, why are you so insightful. I’m still pretty young and in highschool, and my ex girlfriend broke up with me last week. This was after months of her being distant, me constantly asking “is everything ok?” And then her constantly reassuring me that “yeah everything is good” but then going back to acting distant, stopping doing the little cute things we used to do together, stopped being physical, and she broke up with me last week (we almost made it a year btw) and after 4-3 months of her being more and more distant, no more physical stuff between us, and me constantly asking to do something cute together and her turning me down, she breaks up because “I don’t want a boyfriend rn” which sucked because I thought she was the one for awhile there. Anyway. This video really fuckin stuck out to me, cause in some ways it’s pretty similar. And it’s scary
@Kekesos
@Kekesos 7 ай бұрын
You're probably not gonna believe but I am literally going through same shit rn. There's not a single thing different. I'm just probably older than you (I'm 22). Life's hard my man and love is not something that easy to do. It is mostly something that you feel glad to regret. Alas, trust me, it gets better eventually. Hope you'll do fine, I hope myself the same as well. İf you need to rant or smth, hit me up.

Life does repeat and does seem meaningless (probably is) but the best thing is, even though it ended with sadness, you had good times and had good memories. Unfortunately these often comes with great lessons. I made many mistakes and I have lost more than everyone but trust me when I say that life does not remember past and just runs to the future. Do not dwell OK the past, I'm not saying forget about it, make peace with it. Accept that good and bad things happened and it's in the past. Remember her and cherish the times you shared together. But also, acknowledge that it's gone. Sometimes we miss the boat we dream to be on but it does not mean it is wrong to watch the shore. Just be careful if the sea gets higher
@Atamastra

Remember how two months ago you said "no one will ever see this"? 👀 SURPRISE MF! 😜 No, but seriously, I do have a point here. It's about the resignation of expectation. I'm 37 (christ... I'm 37 😒), still kinda look and feel in my mid-20's, and my psyche still clings to bits of the pessimism and bitterness I never quite shook off in my teens. This video in particular actually stuck out to me 5 years ago when I had gone thru similar situations with a girl; it struck many chords. Now, it could mean that you found a kindred spirit in Exurb1a with this vid's unique message, or, perhaps more to importantly, so did everyone else. Meaning this kind of thing is ubiquitous... It's happening everywhere all the time. All I can say is that, for the time I've spent so far, even when you have resigned yourself to your own expectations, you have no idea what is around the next corner. That corner could be in five seconds or five years.

And then you blink and 23 years have passed by in a second. You're both still together, maybe out of shape, balding, wrinkles. And fights that actually mean something, laughter that makes your sides hurt for days, stories you look back on and cry and wonder why you did what you did, and on and on.... Then, if you're lucky, you're oldest is about to graduate high school and has been accepted to 5 different colleges. Five more than you were. And suddenly you're 18 again, watching you're fellow classmates in their caps and gowns getting their diplomas, you look for your parents and suddenly it's you again, looking down at that baby who just yesterday learned to walk, walk to be recognized for that 2 seconds of all that you wished you could have done and been.......and you'll wish you could do it all over again, every wonderful, glorious, loving and painful second that went by oh so quickly. You'll feel those butterflies again, just in different ways. ♥

+cbrohio The Greeks have four words for "love": philio, storge, agape and eros. Actually, they have more. Perhaps it's no coincidence that we have the types of problems in the West considering how the English language has mangled things. Infatuation has nothing to do with compassion, as an example - and naming them differently would've cleared a lot of things up for a lot of people: Eros and agape.

I’ve probably commented this on other videos of yours but god damn do you hit every time. Nobody’s videos can take me through an emotional roller coaster quite like these ones. In particular this one hit home. My ex ended things around about 10 months ago now (somehow it still feels like yesterday) and I’ve been missing her a lot lately. Just those little things you notice about someone that makes the difference between liking them and loving them. It’s a video like this that puts the whole experience into perspective. As much as I feel like she’s the one, reality is that there’s a lot of ones and she was far from perfect. It’s funny, I know that the minute I let go completely is the minute someone better will come along into my peripheral. Life is so silly when you take even a single step back

Yes people not caring about how you are, just let them have their shit feels wrong sometimes... I think he (exurb1a) has been through some rough times lately cus all the 3 videos in 4 months, all of them lacking that calm, stable and thought through atmosphere around him. He seems angry and reckless and I hope everything will be alright with him after releasing another book, and nothing can ever ruin him.

Love is really complicated and there's no recipe. For some people, they never have butterflies in their stomach and have a lifelong relationship. Some have butterflies and you fall out of love. Some people have butterflies that fade away into a different kind of love that's hard to describe. The point of this video isn't to scare you away from love, it's to tell a specific story and to show that love has layers and facets and a lot of love isn't like what you see in the movies. My advice: Communicate. Set healthy boundaries. And be open to improve

And at some point you realise, you actually don't need someonelse to be excited about things or to love music or feel whole. Feelings just appear and pass, no matter what you do. So you finally have time to do something meaningfull, that is not just about your own plesure but actually creat something benefitting many more people, reduce suffering, understanding and discovering how this world and life works. And thats fantastic.
