G’day everyone, I hope you’re all well! In this video we’ll be slicing, rubbing back, cutting and carving the main stone from the little colour pocket in last mining trip. The top of the stone was quite the added bonus. I hope you enjoy, thanks for your time. 🤪👍

Wow! Congratulations, Phil! You found the hidden treasure, and it looks beautiful. I love the carvings more than the cabs. I'm still trying to imagine how a colour bar can dip or slant when it's forming in a layer. Fantastic stuff!

Amazing results, brother! Stoked for ya! And yes, I LOVE CARVED STONES, I LOVE CARVING STONES! the whole thing of calibrated cabachons being more valuable is rubbish to me. That's just a side effect of wholesale sellers and buyers. True opal fans don't care about the shape. Me, I'd rather save as much color as possible, and have a larger, randomly shaped piece, than to rub off ANY color at all. But that's just a personal opinion. 😆

I love seeing you get so excited about the stones as you expose the colors inside. I do love the carvings. I like the uniqueness of each and jewelry that can be made from it. Would love to see you do more.

Nice chunky color! $50 per ct should give you a pretty good payday. Congrats on your mining success. Hope you find a bunch more. Take care.

The colors in those are quite lovely, particularly the red and yellow piece. Opal is always surprising. I am glad you used a dremel on them and maximized the size of the stones. Carving may not yield easily set stones, but the organic shape has a beauty of its own.
