Andar’s Ranger wallet is crazy horse full-grain leather with an integrated leather cash strap and elastic pull strap for cards contained inside its sleeve. Very capable, the overwhelming presence of RFID material turns what appears to be a leather wallet into a noise maker.

I like elastic ones - they're thinner than the leather ones and work better.

I've had this wallet for a week and it's amazing! The pull tab works just fine, easily enough for me to be able to grab the cards and fan them out. The quick access pocket is super-smooth. The cash strap will accommodate fatter notes if you turn them the other way, like sideways. It fits a £20 note like this without poking over the edges. This is my second Andar - the customer service is amazing, making you feel like one of the family! I think your score is a little low - I have a dozen wallets to compare it to, including an Aviator slide, and the Ranger is right up there after a week's carry!

I’ve had this wallet for a few months, in olive grey, and I kinda like it…. I wasn’t keen on it to begin with as when fully loaded it felt really bulky and that it wasn’t closing properly, but since rejigging everything around and wearing it in I dont seem to have as much of a problem. I have 5 cards in the pull out sleeve, one card in each of the other slots and a tiny notebook in the front slot…. I reckon over time it’ll patina quite nicely too 😊

Another good review. I like the general design of the wallet, except for the pull tab - not a fan of those. You briefly noted your questioning (3:50 - 3:54) of the type of material the manufacturer stated is used. Is that because of the tanning, the look of the hide, or another aspect that caught your attention? Thanks for continuing to educate.

Hi Grogg, my comment comes from how little leather is used in some of these wallets as they work to integrate RFID material as much as they can. Manufacturers like to push RFID as a real feature benefit, but it results in very little leather being used in their wallets which saves them money. They can either pass on those savings with lower prices or keep it in higher profits, it's not hard to spot. To that end, crazy horse leather comes from application of specific wax on full-grain leather. With how the edges were turned for sewing, it usually indicates how thin the leather really is. Now, there are very legitimate uses for thin split leather, but in mass produced wallets, they're usually hiding imperfections than anything else.

It appears they did a second run, but the quality was so bad they pulled them all back and did it again. Took an extra couple months for mine to arrive, but it's pretty good. The construction is nice (it's heavy) and the card push mechanism is clever.

I got Andar the range for my birthday. I put a $100 bill in the cash sleeve just how it's shown and lost my money. I tried to leave a review on there website but your not able to. So beware of my problem could cost you.
