Guys, you should probably chop out the performance of Highwayman at the end and re-upload it as a separate video - many people probably won't get to the end of a 2hr video and realise that there's an amazing performance there.

I have to say that Captain Lee's interviews have become way more than entertainment. They have become historical documents. Great artists have told there stories here and i believe that the information contained herein will be invaluable to players in the future. Captain Lee has not only become a great interviewer but a custodian of guitar history.

I heard Albert perform live for the first of many times, 27 years ago. I was there early in The Hangar, Galway. He chatted away as he showed me how to properly tie strings so that they would stay best in tune without slipping. At the end of the full-house gig Albert asked me to hold and mind his MusicMan while he wet off to sign autographs ... and yes, I was tempted to run off with the guitar, but of course I didn't. :-) :-)

it's all subjective but since we're claiming genres and the best guitarists playing in them, we own you on the Blues, Country, Jazz, and Metal. What's that leave you? Classical? A tie at best. The Spanish and Mexicans beat us both anyway in that one. Pop? Don't follow enough pop session guitarists to say one way or another. You can have it if you want. It's not one I care about anyway. (also, I think the Japanese have us both beat in that one as well) So you guys got what? New Wave of British Heavy Metal? That'd mean something if it was 1979 again. (just so we're clear, most of the NWOBHM were really trying hard to be Eddie Van Halen when it came time for the solos)

There are songs I love that I play very seldom because they stimulate my break down and cry reflex. This rendition of The Highwayman by Albert is one of them, . It feels like Albert thought "I remember that clinic and meeting the Captain's pa in law. I'm glad I could make him feel better, This one's for him, and if there is a place we go after we die, maybe he can look down and hear this and be happy." Albert is the kind of guy who would do it and mean it. This was simply the most beautiful things I've heard in some time. Thank you, Albert.

I watched this in silence...loving his stories...loving his guitar work over the years.... then the section at the end struck home with a similar situation I had had a few years ago....got to be honest i was holding it together...just...and then he sang...never heard him sing before...what a voice...lost it completely....wife.."you ok?" ."yes love...I'm fine. .contact lens is just playing up" .......ahem..... absolutely brilliant interview Lee... gave him space to talk ..dropped in at just the right times...best vid on Andertons. Really enjoying the Capt meets series. Thank you.

I've only discovered Albert Lee recently, best guitar player I've ever heard and seems like a genuinely nice guy.

Great to see someone who is such a talented musician is such a lovely, self depreciating fella too. Never knew what a great pianist and singer Albert is either!

How lucky in the world to be in a room with this guy let alone play rhythm on a video!!! This is such an epic look into the honest modesty a guitar genius can have and be so humble and gentle and open with how he got there!! God Save Albert Lee!!
