The male customer is Donald Jones. He was actually an American, born in Harlem NYC. He was a dancer, singer and actor. He was married to Dutch singer, actress and comedian Adèle Bloemendaal. Their son John Jones is an actor too, best known for playing in the Dutch version of the sitcom Three's Company (Dutch title Samsam).

I have seen this show in the theatre when I was a little girl, and this sketch is one of my favorites, I couldn’t stop laughing and I still think it’s hilareous..

10:09 wholesome is the perfect description. I mean, I love edgy comedians like Dave Chappelle, Jimmy Carr and Bill Burr. But I love to switch it up with comedy like this, just pure hilariousness that doesn’t offend anybody. Bert Visscher is another favorite Dutch comedian I love that does this really well.

This brings back so many sweet memories of my childhood. We used to get on the couch on Saturday night, way in advance of the show starting. It’s quite corny, but we thought it was the best humor ever at the time.

So great to see this old reruns of André he is so hilarious, watched this often as a little girl. I really grew up with it and his famous animal crackers you should check that out! Al so great to see Donald Jones in this. He was an American born and raised in New York City. He became the first famous black man on Dutch television. He started out in theater and was a great actor, comedian and singer.

Donald Jones was an American-Dutch actor, singer and dancer; born in Harlem, NYC, he went to the Netherlands in his early twenties and became one of the first Dutch black stars.

And he was a very, very sweet man. He came to our house to sing for my girlfriend. I had a cake made which was in a cakebox and on top were multiple little boxes. In each box there was a piece of paper with a line of a poem I had written. The completed poem was my marriage proposal. Of course he was singing 'Ik zou je het liefste in een doosje willen doen' (I'd love to put you in a little box (as a keepsake)). Afterwards he stayed for cake, drinks, played chess with us, told stories and we all had a great time. Two years later he came at our wedding and sang again. After his performance he was part of our group of guests and had a great evening with my family and especially my grandmother. She died a year after our marriage in 2004 at the age of 92. He died a month later at the age of 72. Iirc we our marriage was his last performance, but we had a blast.

The poor young woman is called Corrie van Gorp, and was his leading lady for many years. She once told in an interview she could strangle him sometimes when he made her laugh and forget her lines. These shows ran a whole season in the theater, but when there were TV-cameras, he went all out. The young man was actually an American called Donald Jones. He somehow ended up in the Netherlands in the late 50's and did all kinds of TV-shows, and later married a well-known Dutch singer and comedienne called Adéle Bloemendaal.

In an interview Corry van Gorp told, this was the only scene she did pee in her pants. André did a lot of unecspected things allway's during the show but, this time she couldn't hold it. Now I'm looking foreward to a reaction on "Het raam" "The window" André goes bowling with some Belgiums therefore the square ball, well actualy a block.

The woman in this sketch is Corry van Gorp. You have seen her earlier as Mrs de Bok with Andre van Duin as Mr. de Bok in the Japanese restaurant.

The cook has a Accent from Amsterdam and the waiter of Rotterdam ( both concurrents of eachother)

I don't know if someone already stated this: Frans van Dusschoten playing the cook once revealed that laughing as an actor because of André's fooling around, most of the times got scripted into the play while it developed during the course of the season.

As a kid I thought it was corny and predictable (even though I was and still am a big Laurel & Hardy fan), but his mimic & timing is brilliant; I actually find it way more funny nowadays...

The colored guy was Donald Jones. He was an American actor who lived in The Netherlands. He married a Dutch actress. Sadly they're both gone now but their son is alive and sometimes acting too.

On stage he's funny as hell. I met him in person on two occasions, in gay bars, and he was quite grumpy. Of course, that was his perogative as you just can't be funny all the time. His humor is what we'd call 'onderbroekenlol' (literal translation 'underpants fun'). He's an excellent actor, comedian and singer and to this day very much loved.

Lost in translation and memory. There was a TV-commercial in wich they asked people to act out a dessert. Kunt u een Mona-toetje nadoen? Meaning could act out a Mona-dessert?

Never drink when watching Andre. Always before or after. Oh and mayonaise yes, in the Netherlands yes, we grow up with it. But you will see if you ever visit us, its real mayonaise better than the American versions. Made as sauce, thicker creamier sweeter, like for fries not like something for a sandwich
