Not since Julia Varady retired has a lyric/spinto soprano voice impressed me in the same manner as this stunning artist who I have only heard for the first time recently. Thanks to You Tube for the many postings. I hope to eventually see her in a live performance.

Vivi ancora! Io son la vita! Ne' miei occhi è il tuo cielo! Tu non sei sola! Le lacrime tue io le raccolgo! Io sto sul tuo cammino e ti sorreggo! Sorridi e spera!

Brava!

Beautiful, moving rendition. The staging's approach (a face to face meeting around a small table) seems very fitting. I had never seen it that way and I feel it's a big plus. Bravo to the director as well!

I dont understand music and its theory.But I love this very much.I think the notes she sang from 4:43 to 4:47 is very high.Please somebody explain me whether this pitch is higher than whistle notes of mariah carey such as O Holy Night.

She has a beautiful but she has a very light instrument. Why is she singing this heavy dramatic soprano roles? Who told her she had a Spinto or dramatic voice? She is a lyric soprano with a medium size instrument. I could hear that even more in her small middle and almost non-existent low register.

Don't talk about voices when you didn't hear them live. Harteros has one of the biggest spinto voices of our times. Everyone that watches her live gets really impressed by the size of the voice. You just think that the voice is not big because the middle is not dark. But color and size are two things totally different!
@beachfanatic2010
@beachfanatic2010 6 жыл бұрын
I know a bit about voice type here as a real dramatic tenor myself. Harteros sounds very very tired. Her voice is tired, period. She is a lyric soprano, period. She simply happens to have an actual Opera voice which is a huge voice when compare to a pop voice. Have you heard a true Spinto? Sondra Radvanovsky is a true Spinto soprano with squilo in all parts of her voice yet her middle in not that big or dark.
@CarlosGomes-wi2ti
@CarlosGomes-wi2ti 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, Sondra has a big spinto voice. But everyone that watch Harteros and Sondra live says that the voice is about the same size. I know voice too. I'm a singer but I had a lot of experience of how different are voices live and on video. I will just say two examples. I heard Roberto Frontali live and in video. In video his voice sounds like lacking squillo. When I heard him live was exactly the opposite. Is a very squillo the voice. Other example was Marina Costa Jackson that in video for me sounded false darkened and it seems that the voice would not project in the hall. When I heard her live, the voice was less dark and runs in the hall really effortless. So, even the most expert in voice in the world can not judge size and overtones by video. The only way to judge is hear live! In videos, we can discuss phrase, style, Dynamics, acting but definitely not size or overtones.

By the ways, I always prefer singers of the past but this is a very high level of singing!

True, the *timbre* of her voice is light; however, even on video I can hear that it's likely a theatre-filling voice. Btw, how do you know *you're* a "real dramatic tenor"? I mean, maybe you sing dramatic tenor roles, but how do you know you're "the real thing" and not some sort of imitation or imposter, like you claim Harteros is? Are you sure *your* voice isn't "too lyric" for the roles you sing?
