Very interesting video Andrè. I particularly like the fridge vent fan. Plenty of options with the auto/manual mode.

It's really quite helpful in summer. We use a thermometer in the fridge and can see the difference. We've since removed the aircon unit and added another clear roof vent for more light inside. We still sing the praises of the maxxfan daily. It's just brilliant to have something that can stay open and provide active ventilation no matter the weather.

Thanks for road testing the fans for us, I was thinking of fitting the maxx fan in our van over the bed but maybe next year! It's getting colder at nights here but we're going to persevere with some long weekends away until at least the end of November

We've been having our first rainy days now and being able to keep a vent open (and run a fan) has made a massive difference. It's one of those things that you don't know how you lived without it before 😁

I just installed my first one and need to do my second one and was just noticing the thing about not being able to turn the fan off without closing the lid… it’s crazy…

We have the same fan in our van, if you turn the fan off it will close as shown in your video, but if you press the bottom left button on the remote control it will either open or close the vent. That way you can have the vent open without the fan spinning.

Yes of course thank you! It's still a bit silly to have to close and open the vent just to stop the fan. But we still love it 😁

@@WeWillNomad Ours was invaluable over the last three weeks. I thought about you a couple of times when we saw the wall you were hiding behind in Tarifa ;) What I tend to do is press the off button and then immediately press the open button. That way it turns off and doesn't make ALL the noise of opening and closing again. You get used to the button layout so you can operate it I the dark, but I do quite agree, that for the price the controller should be back lit.

Thank you for the video! We are living in Norway and have the same model van as you. We bought it last fall and have some problems with water coming in thru the roof. We have located the water to come in from the joint between the drivers hut and the living area. Do you have any recommandations on what to use to make the roof water proof?

Hi Jannike. We actually believe that our van also had a leak in the same place as there is some evidence to suggest it was re-sealed with paneling and ceiling board replaced inside. Luckily, we have not had any further moisture there. You will probably have to remove all existing joint sealant and replace it. Also, what we've done is to cover all the joint seals with Eternabond like you can see in the video. Dealing with a leak is probably our biggest fear. Hopefully you manage to sort out your problem easy enough. All the best!

Why not use butyl tape under the flange instead? Also what was your reasoning behind the clear top and not the white top? You wanted all the light?

Yes, we don't have any large skylights, so the extra light is nice. Except during summer in Scandinavia 😁

With the left bottom button you just open de vent, without the fan speeding…..

Yes of course, you're quite correct. However, if the fan is already running you still HAVE to first use the power button to stop it. If you're quick enough to press the second button the vent stays open. It just seem like an unnecessary oversight.
