I think he did have a sort of distortion with the mechanics of the violin, actually! If you play with the bottom half of the bow and close to the bridge of the violin, you get this awesome gruff sound that you can hear in many violin performances of this movement, especially during certain polyphonic parts. It sounds like someone is grinding the bow into the violin in a fit of anger. In other parts, the violinist might play with the top part of the bow and closer to the fingerboard to get this thin, wirey, hollow sound that makes me think of howling wind. I think Janine Janson does a great job of showing off this old-fashioned “distortion”

Yeah, it`s relly interesting how when listening to his pieces you just get this feeling of powermetal shining through, passages that sound just liken riffs so much later appearing in rock and metal musik.

But it is a metal version that sounds like vivaldi. You need to rephrase

@@Kloashut is he from the Scorpions? I found an old song called Sails of Charon, I think... It was really cool, and surprisingly had never heard it. One of their cooler riffs, imo.
