I was listening to this and my three-year old son said from the other room, "Please excuse my ignorance Father but do my ears deceive me or is that musical composition some sort of agglomerate of famous musical groups Muse and Metallica?" So nice job.

AI is being built to satisfy the desires of the people with the most money, tasteless swine that were so focused on the grind that they never developed a taste beyond the most basic and bland. And they promote AI as if it were being trained to satisfy the rich developed tastes of artists and connoisseurs. As long as AI is controlled and developed by capitalists, it will always be lacking. The scary thing is how quickly it can produce bland dreck and replace a culture's memes with a flood of grey goo.

this is definitely expertly done, but i think a lot of it has to do with being able to hit the 'tones' and the 'cadence' that muse tends to play with. forward driven, very even spacing between notes in the bass lines, outside of melodic sections, with that 'fuzz' is really what makes the muse songs.

I don't believe they had any incentive before but I will say that I strongly believe that an actual Muse version of Master Of Puppets wouldn't sound like this. I think if Muse tried to cover 'tallica, it would sound less muse than this. This is absolutely genius. Every opportunity you got to add muse songwriting conventions you took, even if meant taking some liberties with the melody. And while I appreciate what both Muse and Metallica do to an extent, I like this a lot more than anything either of them have done individually haha.

That would mostly just be because when a band covers something, they rarely change the notes or the chord progression.
@sepiarain
@sepiarain 2 жыл бұрын
@@twistedmime5264 indeed, that's what I meant when I said it meant taking some liberties with the melody. Andre actually enriches the song harmonically in places to make it more "muse-like", certainly in the verse and chorus, where Metallica just use 5th chords and keep it punchy bludgeoning - Andre voiced those chords differently and added that dirge and extra texture.
@esthersmith3056
@esthersmith3056 2 жыл бұрын
ehhh. my biggest criticism would easily be that he doesnt take enough liberty with the melody. the original song's vocals are pretty melodically boring, which is kind of okay there because it's quite a bit faster and noisier, and because hetfield's barking introduces timbral variation where another singer might prefer melodic variation. even with these mitigating factors, the original personally grates for me a little somewhere towards the end of both "verse sections"; here it's even more frustrating, despite the occasional falsetto leap. (and like. i dont think im hating, it's a serviceable cover with some interesting ideas, im going to send it to the muse/metallica fans i know.)

Well, to get known people have to hear of you. And where are the people? Streaming sights and radio. The radio that most people listen too plays mostly the same 30 or 40 songs over and over again. Maybe swapping 4 or 5 in and out every half decade. And if you're not already a pop star streaming sights don't pay artists enough to really bother that much with them. The worst thing for talented musicians was the invention of streaming sites. The subscription price payed there goes to the sites and not the artists. The sites then get to pay the artists as little as they can get away with. So it's going to take a lot of blind luck for people to find this guy. Which is a main reason people do covers. People looking for Master Of Puppets here might find this person and go hunt his other stuff down. But it will have to be pure word of mouth and luck.

@@chrisking6695 its not just musical understanding, its a mixing of all things in a context, look at his filming production, all the instruments that he recorded with very good quality, the vocals that he managed to sing very accurate to the muse singer, and doing this while playing which is something difficult at its own. Analyze all this combined and you still say there is no talent involved to do something like this ?

He actually even sounds like Matt a few times, especially in his middle register (think 'Take a Bow').
