he expanded his repertoire, for years he had been known to be an excellent shooter "only"....now he is much more unpredictable, since he drives, back-passes, he is creating space for others, no wonder he had 6 asists, only the 2nd time to do so in 18 months

To all of you who are saying this USA team is not composed of the best in the NBA,.. well so are the rest of the FIBA teams. Otherwise they'd all be playing in the NBA. It's the most lame excuse one can make up. The truth is the world has caught up with the US with basketball. This is an amazing feat for Germany. A country that's more known for soccer than basketball in the world. Congratulations and I'm looking forward to a really great final game against Serbia

Every European nation was complaining they we're missing their best players from NBA , do you think Germany didnt have the same problem ??? Hartenstein , Kleber ,Washington Jr .etc..Nobody gave props & credit to the German team ! They would have beaten ,Spain , France ,Italy ,also Croatia & Turkey booth didnt qualify etc...They are on fire and best team with 7:0 wins ! Serbia even cant match this , they are momentarly 6:1 and USA 5:2 !

@@irvinec7352So who of the US stars is a better defender then JJJ or Bridges? It wasnt the talent... it was the taktic! Under FIBA rules Kessler shouldve been the starting center and JJJ should play his natural PF position. Then dont play a "switch" everything defense and let Kessler roam the paint all the time. Cause that would also help to hide Brunson AND with the lack of rebounding. Starting 5 all training camp and tournament shouldve been Brunson/Edwards/Bridges/JJJ/Kessler. The US clearly had the most talented roster of the entire tournament, but tryed to play NBA style Basketball under FIBA rules against teams that are built to play FIBA style Basketball. The coaching staff is Hall of Fame... for the NBA. They needed at least one coach with real FIBA experience. Someone like Kokoskov for example.

I mean he could be a role player. Undersized for SG though. Also he is not dominant enough on the european stage to be even on the radar of NBA teams. Germany s coach is running a lot of plays for him and he looks like an ideal fit next to NBA players. If I look at his numbers for his european team it seems they don t use his shooting ability too often.

finally ...when playing for Ratiopharm Ulm, Obst was the best 3point scorer in the German league (which oozes with quality players from all over the world) for two or three seasons in a row....his time had to come...he is your go-to-clutch-3-point-guy

Noah lyles is correct. No excuse for US team without the best players. So does the rest, Serbia without MVP Jokic still goes to final. US team has two top draft picks and two rookies of the year (Edward and Banchero...), but still can not win :)
