Fact: Dan was a survivor from The Field trip z And then a theory maybe he found scraps and sold it in overpriced prices to get a living it worked and now he has a gambling machine for 99 Bottle caps since the mutants are zombies that means Dr zero survived the last ending Which showed him still alive. so then the final boss of any map probably is Dr zero again

I think what caused a dusty trip to happen is You move out cus of the apocalypse to a dessert but your car crashes and you find your long lost house and it has a car but its destroyed
