Official Soundtrack for the Netflix Film Tick, Tick... Boom! Featuring Music Written by Jonathan Larson. Listen to the Soundtrack here ticktickboom.lnk.to/albumAY
In Selected Theatres (Nov 12) and Wide release in Netflix (Nov. 19)
Stop the clock
Take time out
Time to regroup
Before you lose the bout
Freeze the frame
Back it up
Time to refocus
Before they wrap it up
Years are getting shorter
Lines on your face are getting longer
Feel like you're treading water
But the riptide's getting stronger
Don't panic, don't jump ship
Can't fight it, like taxes
At least it happens only once in your life
They're singing "Happy Birthday"
You just want to lay down and cry
Not just anothеr birthday
It's 30/90
Why can't you stay 29?
Hell, you still feel like you're 22
Turn thirty, 1990
Bang! You'rе dead
What can you do?
What can you do?
What can you do?
Clear the runway
Make another pass
Try one more approach
Before you're out of gas
Friends are getting fatter
Hairs on your head are getting thinner
Feel like a clean-up batter
On a team that ain't a winner
Don't freak out, don't strike out
Can't fight it, like City Hall
At least you're not alone
Your friends are there too
They're singing, "Happy Birthday"
You just wish you could run away
Just wish you could run away
Who cares about a birthday?
But 30/90, hey
Can't you be optimistic?
You're no longer the ingenue
Turn thirty, 1990
Voom! You're passé
What can you do?
What can you do?
What can you do?
Peter Pan and Tinkerbell
Which way to Never Never Land?
Emerald City's gone to hell
Since the wizard
Blew off his command
On the streets you hear the voices
Lost children, crocodiles
But you're not into
Making choices, wicked witches
Poppy fields, or men behind the curtain
Tiger lilies, ruby slippers
Clock is ticking, that's for certain!
They're singing, "Happy Birthday"
I just wish it were all just a dream
It feels much more like Doomsday
Fuck
30/90
Seems like I'm in for a twister
I don't see a rainbow, do you?
Turn 30 in the 90's
Into my hands now
The ball is passed
I want the spoils, but not too fast
The world is calling
It's now or Neverland
Why can't I stay a child forever, and
30/90
30/90
30/90
30/90
30/90
30, 30/90
What can I do?

and they are still contemplating whether Will Smith deserves to keep his Oscar. I'm not saying his achievement should be diminished, his actions don't change the work he did to earn the Oscar in the first place, but Andrew Garfield was far more worthy of the award for this performance in my opinion. The only issue with taking it away from Will to give to Andrew now would be that it would likely render the award empty for Andrew because he didn't win it originally.

This song is so addicting but also makes me sad at the same time. The thought of growing older, partying and being on your own and the freedom you will get but also you are getting far away from your youth and have to focus on work and money to survive in this world is just scary

i have been thinking the same but then again no phases of our life is actually good, the thing is when we are young we usually get taken care of every phase can be as challenging as the others as long as we fully take on the chaotic parts of the world that others have been doing for us this is not to be edgy or anything, i just see that there are a lot of young people out there are already stressed out trying to make ends meet like their elders... its tough

I know. Same here. I don’t know him personally, I don’t hang out with him and so on, but just being a fan of his movies and especially Spider-Man and seeing his career as a whole, it’s kinda interesting isn’t it how you can feel so good, wholesome and proud for another person you’ve never met in person. He really does seem like a great dude. Super genuine and hard working. It honestly sounds like he has been singing in a band for most of his life too. He has a shockingly good voice for an actor who had never sang before. Singing is also a very interesting thing that reveals a persons soul to see which is usually hidden away on the inside but singing brings that out. It’s cool he has shared that with everyone by doing this film and soundtrack.

I listen to this just to hear Andrew Garfield hit that E when singing "90" because he hits it so in-tune and so clearly. A lot of professional singers couldn't hit a note like that with such clarity. It's more common to hit it flat at first, then go up to reach the note. Andrew Garfield is in a league of his own.

@@roshnigupta9914 Oh yeah! He has powerful execution. He’s too good for a beginner. He already developed a stable chest voice and good projection and dictation. He can easily hit those notes because of the right execution because when hitting it with head voice you can strain but it will be smoother and cleaner when done by chest voice. I hope he release more songs in the future as a singer

@@proximac_tecsonity0488 yes, though I would love to hear if he can do it live (I think I saw him say that this song was pre recorded). Even if he can't, this is still pretty impressive that he can hit notes like this at all.

My birthday is just in a few days (not turning 30 nor is it 1990, but still) and I recently became obsessed with this song. I’m terrified of being older but I know it’s coming whether I like it or not! So happy to find a song that fits my position. Andrew’s voice is so powerful in this song! Happy birthday to anyone else who’s using this song on their very own special day

I was really impressed with this movie and Andrew Garfield singing, playing and acting. Usually I am not into the really poppy new musicals, but this was really good and the music was really good. Makes me think of late 90's early 2000's style of small band rock which was all my jam back then. And I listen to this song and it takes me back and then I think to myself ... holy shit this is Andrew Garfield, that dude can really sing. He could totally pull off playing and singing in a band if that was something he ever wanted to do, and do really well at it.

Well... you are not that mistaken in the appreciation: while the film is of this year (with some revisions, perhaps), the original material was originally performed as monologue/workshop during September of 1990 (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rZaehdChuqe5e30.html ), it was reshaped in its final musical form in 1996. Although some additions were made (entire song sections and songs by Jonatha Larson, but not related to the original presentation), the general feeling and orchestration was not changed very much.
