Great episode overall and enjoy your content. But the final comments about the “guilty lawyer” are wildly ignorant and hypocritical based on your other opinions. For example - what if the articles about Portnoy (which seem to be calculated hit pieces) resulted in a criminal trial that could result in him going to prison? Does he (or any American) not deserve the best legal representation to protect his freedom from the government? To reinforce that point - check out the easily researchable statistics of wrongfully convicted death row inmates later exonerated by DNA. It’s sickening, and even more sickening when you extrapolate those stats and apply it to how many people have been wrongfully convicted and imprisoned by the government. How many of those innocent people could not afford good defense lawyers and had to rely on overworked and underpaid public defenders? One of the last comments you all made about criminal defense attorneys was that they do it because they “believe in the judicial system”… I hope that my comment shows that most (not all) defense lawyers believe the exact opposite - that every American deserves competent representation to protect them from an unjust judicial system that too often takes away the freedom of the innocent.
