The only thing that I find strange is when you come across a man who says that he does not date any woman past the age of ... And then he names some number like 21 or 24. I had a neighbor like that who was living with a woman and she was pregnant by him. He basically said that because she was turning 21 soon he needed to find a new woman. He asked me how old I was and I was 22 so he said I was too old. Lol. I wouldn't want him anyway. I don't know how old he was but I guessed he was in his forties. An 18 yr old and a 17 year old are viewed completely different in a legal sense but there is virtually no distinction in terms of physical, mental and emotional maturity and therefore most people don't make much of a distinction in how they view said person. It's not even true. If people's brains stopped developing at 25, we would all have dementia in our 30s. Our brains pretty much never stop developing until we're very old and our mental capacity starts to decline.

It's the development of the neural pathways for executive function. Which are only going to develop through actually making decisions for oneself and via experiences.
