Hey Andrew, just wanted to say that I love your videos. I'm a freshman physics UG student at Sonoma State and they decided to kinda ditch teaching classical mechanics and motion type stuff to teach us about special and general relativity and quantum mechanics(for dummies lol). But it's pretty fukin cool, not gonna lie my professor spits straight facts. Hope you have good day, peace✌.

Just found your channel. I'm into it. Okay, important question: Have you seen the Aussie film Young Einstein? (If not, go watch.) Follow-up question (pertaining to a scene where a young Albert Einstein, Marie Curie and arrogant fictional mansplainer-scientist Preston Preston discuss physics on a train travelling through the Aussie outback to Sydney): How does light travel as both particles and waves? Please also explain this supposed answer: "Space tells matter how to move, and matter tells space how to curve." Thank you. (I've been holding on to that since I saw Young Einstein as a kid.)

That's me in the meme at 6:42. Some friends told me about it, I didn't make the meme. It is made from a screen shot of my first, and most popular video. As the title says, it is on solving the Einstein Field Equations for the Schwarzschild metric. I made that video at the end of my freshman year in college, which was when I started my channel.

10:17 You're probably thinking of exceptional. The classification of the complex simple Lie algebras, much like the classification of finite simple groups, has some infinite sequences with a finite number of sort of ad hoc exceptions. In the classification of finite simple groups, we usually call the 26 finite groups "sporadic", but in the classification of complex simple Lie algebras we call the 5 of them "exceptional". E8 is unique as a complex Lie algebra, and so it corresponds to a unique complex lie group of complex dimension 248. The E8 you talk about is, simply, the maximal compact subgroup of this complex group. It has real dimension 248, and can correspond to 1 of 3 real forms of the Lie algebra. E8 has some especially spicy properties though. It's the only simple compact Lie group such that its smallest dimensional nontrivial representation is the adjoint representation acting on the Lie algebra itself. It's also the only simple compact Lie group that's simply connected with trivial center and has all roots the same length.
